The Shoot2hunt Podcast

The manufacturer is LOW. They’re out of Japan.
Yeah I got that.
LOW is the OEM
S2H defined the specs
Company X is who S2H is collaborating with to get LOW to make the scope.

Again, if athlon is indeed company X, that’s not a bad thing. I would just prefer (if the option is available) to not support a china headquartered company.

I was assuming athlon was a Chinese based company.
After looking them up, seems like they are headquartered out of Olathe KS.

Sorry for this detour. Back to the scope

I think it takes like 40 MPH full value with my slow ass, moves a ton in the wind, 16” 223 to need 5 MILs worth of wind hold.

For this reticle, what will the horizontal and vertical subtensions/hash marks be, and out to how many MIL has marks will users get for each?

Sorry if that’s been covered before.

Hardpoint DT

Hardpoint - Aviation term, reinforced location to mount weapons

DT - Drop Test, the test that started it all

Then as these sell faster than Pokémon cards and new models are green lit for production, future models just change the letter designators.

Hardpoint K (fixed 6x)
Hardpoint RS (3-9)
Hardpoint C ( 5-30 comp optic)

this is good. could also just keep it simple: S2H 3-18 x44

It’s a simplified/cleaner THLR. I believe you have the ZP5, don’t you?

Sure looks like a Huskemaw lineage. That would be cool, they’re not well known but their scopes are as user friendly as Leupold but definitely more robust.

Pretty sure it’s confirmed to be a Huskemaw, with Rokslide Green band, and named the Gory Hole. And by confirmed I mean probably…

You guys are funny: Vortex, Huskemaw, Athlon, NF ...

Remember what matters here is the LOW + Form + S2H combination, not who had the existing relationship with LOW.

[But if it's who I think it is ... there's a very interesting two degrees of separation thing going on ...]

Of all the people on this board ... are you and I not the ones who are most likely to be excited by this reticle? Are we not entertained?
haha.

I remember a while ago it being speced as a cleaner/simpler THLR, just wasn't sure which aspects of the reticle will remain and which will go away.

For me, I want the bold main horizontal lines that come to a point -----> <----- to come closer together and get rid of the unnecessary 5 MILs or whatever of wind holds it has (can't remember right now what it has but it's too many from what I recall). The box and center dot are excellent. The aim short and aim long are cool but never get used and make it "busy" in some instances.

I know it will be a great hunting reticle whatever it ends up as.

Tried that before- with how thick the bold posts are and the bottom one being 1.5 mils from center, bringing in the windage posts to 3-4 mils made the whole view claustrophobic- everyone that played with or saw the markup hated it.

The beauty of the THLR is that it offers excellent low light, low power aiming; and the most open FOV, and best shotting ability of any reticle on the market.

I’m in to buy one for sure. Wouldn’t mind if the whole “SHOOT2HUNT” engraving wasn’t so in your face. Is that just on the prototype that you currently have in possession? Or on every scope moving forward?

A more subtle “S2H” would be more appealing IMO.
