Agreed, repeating, "we're primarily an archery company" while promoting a $3,850 rifle isn't real confidence inspiring. It makes sense given the broader context, but by itself it's confusing. Might be worth mentioning to the marketing team @Imac45acp

They could be plumbers who fight Koopas for all I care...

They've brought in a team, including Ian, to make this gun something unique in the market that plans to meet the exact requirements of most Rokslide users (heavier use gun owners than the average hunting/shooting community by a large margin).

Name another reliable, accurate, properly assembled, truly function/fire tested, and American manufactured gun that exists. Combine that with properly chambered actions for modern bullets, barrel lengths that make sense for hunting guns that already threaded to be suppressed, and a stock designed specifically for optimal hunting shooting...

I'm far from a "marketing hype" guy but it's a lot to get excited about in a hunting gun. Looking forward to more samples hitting the field.

I would buy 2 of these MRC rifles if I had the money. I just double stroked and jammed up my 223 Tikka the other day due to it being a push feed and my using a LA bolt stop on it. There's merit in that CRF design for sure

Good point. It’s either priced to market demand vs cost+margin or that’s saying something about the work that might be necessary to make the McMillan model function reliably and shoot decent.

The question is fair- the stock prices are a wash at retail/maybe $200 bucks on stock cerakote, bottom metal, a lot of Forms time, couple magazines. The rest appears the same w improved QC (awesome). Maybe pitching barrels/actions that don’t live up to standard, but I imagine the other models will be held to same standard now.

If I had my druthers it would have been a walnut stock and stainless beauty at the given price, but I’m likely not the target market. I like bare bones stuff that works w out question, most people (and probably marketing) like fancy paint and fluted barrels (maybe the first 100 could be fluted).

I could have talked a friend into one at $3k, $3850 plus a transfer fee was a bridge too far.

I’m supportive of the project and will happily reward the work.

This is honestly a really good point. I will say they’re doing new chambers and shorter barrels, but that’s a difference that’s probably not driving up costs.

It is a lot to get excited about I don’t deny that. I’ve been following along and it seems like exactly what is wanted and needed for hunters/shooters. I was confused by that comment being made multiple times in my previous experience with Montana rifle company in, Kalispell Montana led me to believe they were definitely both feet in the firearms business.

Thats full on custom gun money for a production class rifle. I just built a carbon titanium 6cm for the same money.

Is every S2H rifle going through forms garage and gun range trips for his S2H stamp of approval and blessing before it ships off to the happy Rokslide after their purchase? Or does it end up in a warehouse somewhere before going to its forever home?
