Anyone paying attention will see these announcements; AI, Robotics, new Chips, Exo skeletons, Self driving cars, etc. One of my clients is a big mucky muck with Waymo- Self driving cars and he told me 5 years ago it would take over- I was skeptical. Tuesday visiting my son in San Francisco those Waymo Ubers are everywhere- taking over. Think of all the chips and sensors in those cars.

Technology has been and will be a bigger part of our lives in the future....and we can invest in that through the various ETF's.

In 20 years, I will look back at this time in the market and say, that was my best chance to make money in the market. I am investing today with that mindset.

Tempe, Az was a big testing/ rollout area for Waymo. They are everywhere. Pretty amazing technology. The best part is not having to carry a conversation with some Uber driver.

Tesla is deploying robo taxis in many cities in the US, Europe and Asia. There self driving is supposed to be really good and the amount of vehicles they can crank out will surpass Waymo, if they haven’t already.

Autonomous vehicles, AI, bots, energy storage are areas I am positioning myself in.

Not much elaborating needed. Tesla is not just a car company. Betting against Elon is a tough way to make profits.

What are the income restrictions for Roth conversions? Or is it all just the initial tax burden?

Depends what kind of Roth.
-Traditional has 150k single, 265 married, and partial after that
- if your employer program has, then it's post tax, but those plans then you can do alot more (eg whatever your 401/403 max is)
- 3rd is Backdoor roth of you don't have employer plan and exceed income limits. Contribute to a regular IRA (set up your own, unless you can't -eg your already have a simple IRA or something like that). That Wil be a non tax deductible IRA. But then do Roth conversion, and if you've just had in cash, cap gains negligible) now you have Roth and never pay any cap gains going forward

Actually, probably safer than people driving honestly. Lawsuits will certainly come of it, but what’s new. I feel sure that it’s here to stay and will see a lot of growth in the near future, as it already has in the recent past.

It will be interesting to see if Tesla can compete with Waymo as it’s a totally different technology. They use video cameras, and WayMo uses Lidar.

My client, the Waymo guy, of course, is partial to their technology. He says the tesla video and it’s algorithms cannot compete with Lidar.

Combined income exceeds the max.

Employer has a 401k plan, a very generous plan at that.

More annoying is being (somewhat) forced to listen to a radio station you would never listen to at a volume that should be illegal in a ride service.

Waymo is everywhere around me too. There's a park across from our house and Waymo cars hang there waiting to be called. They seldom hang for long during the day and even late at night, their hang time is under 10-20 minutes.

My retirement horizon is less than 2 years so I’m starting to consolidate into a lower risk profile.

I think Tesla will win the self driving robotaxi race for several reasons. First of all Tesla produces self driving cars today for under 40k vs Waymo's 140k. Second Tesla has shown that they have the capability to build at scale. Third Tesla is using a visual self driving system that I believe will work better given our existing roads are all designed for visual drivers.

I just read today that GM is coming out with self driving cars and I think it’s starting with the ev platforms. They are deleting apple play and putting in their own architecture

In 10 years self driving will be the norm and human driving will be for very unusual circumstances lite off roading

Wow, good on you - heck of a return. I feel like OKLO could potentially have a return like that if the stars align, but it will take years so I am trying to hold off on nuclear. GEV seemed like a good energy alternative, but maybe I've missed the boat on that one. Thanks.
