Anybody have any single stocks they like for the long term? I already have most of my roth ira in etf's which seem hard to beat, just wondering if anybody has anything as far as single stocks that might keep up with s and p 500 just to diversify a bit more

Pretty disappointing at .04 EPS....outrageous with the price of Brent crude well over $100 for much or all of Q1. I'm reading much of this is based on their 74% tax rate pay down, but c'mon, Expected better.
They paid down 27.5 million in debt this quarter. only 10 mil left to pay off in Q2 and these guys are debt free.

Thinking that may just be short term/revolver debt....

They need to reward their SHs.
The influx of cash from us early in the pandemic may have been the difference for GTE and BK in 2020.
Paying down debt is always a good thing (!) but some of us don't want to abide four years in this company. I'm wary of this market as a whole, a total implosion wouldn't surprise me with the D.C. Marxist clan.
GTE should have considered some parity with this Q1-- debt repayment, bought back shares, frankly I'm disgusted; .04 is a joke with Brent and demand.
CDEV wasn't any better, equally pissed off there.

I'm not normally so critical here--glass half full typically, but these companies are a max disappointment for Q1 with SP. Thinking very seriously of a $9.50 exit for CDEV. $2 for GTE if she gets there.

What are your thoughts on CPE earnings? If you are still holding?

Lpi earnings were shit also. I sold it today at $72.50 with a low 60s cost average. Got tired of waiting for it to turn and get back into the 90s. If some of these oil companies aren’t just printing money and rewarding shareholders with these crude prices it makes me wonder if they ever will. Still holding a lot of GTE but looking for an exit at some point this year.

As you know I left GTE a while ago because I was frustrated, but I also left a lot of coin on the table doing it. My pep talk would be to hang in there if you don’t need the cash. The fear and doubt is removed, they are doing what they said they would do paying down the revolver…you’ve got 3-6 more quarters (through next summer) to really probably get itchy about bailing.

With CDEV Im still in pretty heavy as you know…but think you’re being too critical. Again doing what they said, buy backs are approved and will more than offset the compensation share dilution. I think we see buybacks and a more dynamic earnings in Q2 and Q3.

I know it’s hard and I’ve proven I am not the great patient one with trimming some CDEV and all of GTE.

Not holding, JD. I sold CPE with their R/S many moons ago. Lost conviction with their management at that time.
That said, they've had their runs. You may do well in the long term, dunno.

Thanks for chiming in, Brett.
Yeah, been critical and all-round bitchy about these companies today. :/ I've tried to be one of the rocks around here over the last couple of years, but the patience has admittedly been wearing thin.

I'm gonna hang in there, we're two bucks down from where we should be imho, but it isn't without some reservation, just about everything in this market right now is concerning.

Ha, well what do I know. I replied yesterday when the market was decent, then today is shaping up to the worst day of the year. What a mess we are in.

My 2 cents is that it's clear the economy is in ruins and the majority of the market movement is made by bots and options positioning.

Bear market pop. What goes up must come down. (Thank you Capt Obvious ;) )Inflation worries looks to have come back in. I'm curious what will happen tomorrow. A bounce back up? Or the S&P take out 4050 level.
