Curious about your optimism on FET. Looks like it's been on a general downward trend for the last 3 years. Any insights?
Any thoughts on this @Okhotnik? I'm trying to figure out how to assess the potential on these stocks. Any tips/insights are appreciated.

Well done, OKhot,
Chap is up 56% today at the moment, holding 5K shares, feels good, lol.
I'm genuinely curious about something...I have no idea about these small stocks but can you help me understand why Chap is going so high when it appears it's getting ready to file for bankruptcy?

Sometimes stock moves are not rational, it’s like CHK, it went down to $12.30, then up to almost $40 right before filing. There are a lot of oil stocks rocketing at the moment that aren’t going to make it. But there’s lots of money to be made IF you get in and out in the right time.

I saw at beginning of trading session that FET adopted limited duration stock holders' rights plan. That, and the general feeling in the/ oil gas market, and I think that FET was a bit undervalued. Seems like their trading volume has been up the past few days. I still think that the fact that the POTUS has announced beginning of week that he was open to helping out distressed oil companies is helping too and that states are starting to open up their economies.

Its not one of those buy and forget blue chip stocks.

I think this is similar to other market bubbles in human history. Speculators are running the market now. This I just a theory but I think covid virus has a good deal of people at home with nothing to do and more have entered the market and are day trading and speculating. Just a guess

When it ends it anyone's guess.

I literally do not leave my computer trade screen for more than a minute or two every day during trading hours it is that volatile at times. Last few weeks most of the money was made the first hour or so of trading ( based upon my observations) now the spikes are happening throughout the trading day and during after hours trading. If you don't have the time I would not suggest doing it and still is very risky. Ive made my share of mistakes in the beginning. It almost approaching day trading but not quite. A lot on here know more than me.

Im used to more long term investing scenarios and have been pretty successful and retired in my 50's.

Yeah, it's important to remember we're dealing with literally penny stocks right now. Will these companies survive? Honestly that's the big question, if so they will be back and any purchase below a buck should yield really fine returns. In a few years serious money.
It's tough to see red on the sheet, but that's part of the game especially in covid times.
I think Trump cringes to see any viable company fail, he's a true business man and will do everything he can to see that some of these small shale concerns survive.
Just when I think I have it figured out the market reminds me I am clueless haha. With that being said I am predicting a Friday sell off on some of these shale companies and some solid dips. With the dips some decent opportunities to pick up some solid deals. What’s everyone watching to pick up? Been keeping my eye on CPE, CHAP, and FET. Had a strong urge to pick up FET yesterday but told myself I wasn’t going to touch anything until today if it does in fact dip. Also always keeping an eye on CDEV. Have a long term hold on that one. Good luck out there and hope it’s another good day for everyone.

I just ordered a sell of OAS at .72 and CPE at .90, planning to hold on to CDEV. I could've taken much higher profits on Wednesday, but like someone said the other day, FOMO. Learning as I go...

Well FET is up almost 30 per cent, CDEV down a few per cent in off hours trading. Other oil/gas stocks mixed. I picked another 20 k shares FET yesterday against my better judgement. lol I said was going to get out. Dollars is up, gold down to 1 1/2 week lows, market is pretty shaky with Trump's recent comments on trade with China, euro markets down, asian markets were generally up. Dow futures down 400 points! Ill bet more people jump into oil stocks today due to down market. Who knows?

Should be a bunch of profit taking today based on last month's trading patterns . You can probably pick up a few deals today if you look after the first few hours. I wouldn't wait if you see a deal and you want to take a risk.

good luck!

Looks like CDEV might start its recovery or maybe a false bump. I had in order in for .97. Of course not filled yet. Tough to see it down in my trade column down almost 9 k from high yesterday. lol

I picked up some NAT after reading about the storage issue, looks like a long term pick. Anyone else think different?

I have a stop loss sell on CDEV today for $1.00. It's come damn close to triggering today. I'll be happy with my profits if it sells and happy if it doesn't. Win Win!

I’m intrigued also. If they keep charging what they are per day for storage, their balance sheet will look pretty good moving forward. Also, if all of the local oil producers start to declare bankruptcy, I believe we will see a flip in barrel prices as the economy opens up again. If less is produced in the short/mid term, what oil is stored might be sold at a premium. Just a novices opinion. Feel free to poke holes in that and tell me I’m wrong.
this thread has been amazing. Thanks to all for the discussion and tips
