The Rokslide 95 (Ruger American 😁)

Browsing Black Friday sales and noticed some new offerings listed on grabagun. Looks like the Go Wild Gen 2 is the next variant to be released. 3 different chamberings listed so far are 22creed, 22arc, and 6arc. They’re not even listed on rugers website yet, someone at grabagun might have listed these prematurely. Hoping for a 25creed soon as well. Also, I know many of us have reached out to Stockys for a VG2, they did respond in their recent thread they posted about Black Friday sales and said they are still working on it so fingers crossed there as well. Happy thanksgiving everyone!

They aren't new. They are a distributor special. I got one in August when they were released. Great shooting rifle. Grab one if it fits your needs.

Ruger American Gen 2 Predator 6mm ARC

Hornady Black 105 gr BTHP

That is a 1/2” dot that I was shooting at. I had one flyer that I pulled on. This is a nine shot group. I love this gun a little more each time that I shoot it. It is becoming a very close second favorite to my Tikka T3X CTR 20” Stainless .260 Remington.

Briefly had a .308 RA Predator. Got a wild hair 5-6 years ago wanting to get something threaded & cheap as a test host for a fairly new suppressor. Longer story, but that’s where it started so I bought the RA used for cheap & put a sale priced Nikon on it (first & last Nikon scope!). Well, to my surprise it was a good shooter with great grouping and accuracy with run of mill factory ammo. Hunted it only once (photo) without taking a shot, and then sold it because I got another wild hair for something else & .308 just wasn’t flashy enough, haha. 😆 IMG_6135.jpeg

Yeah, if you care about how it shoots more than looks, there's a LOT there for the money. If the flush fit Duramags function as well as Lancer 10-round mags, I'm set for an accurate, adjustable, soft shooting trainer/hunting rifle that I'm ok beating on.

Yes, good point. Very economical. I did forget about the plastic RA mag on the .308 I had. It worked but indeed was junk.

Bought a field stock on MDT sale. It’s back ordered but was a fair price. Excited to dump my rotary mag og og predator stock and load long in aics up to 2.44 coal

You can pop out the insert in those mags and open them up to take a lot more than 2.4"
Still cycle fine? I’ve had this rifle basically since it came out. Springs are shot I assume. I’ll look up how to pop that out and see if they cycle better. 4th and 5th mags one of the largest pieces of junk I own and I try to leave junk behind.

Zero accuracy issues for original stock.

American rotary mags were hot piles of shit when they were new...

Aics mags are just a 308 shell with the insert. Slip them out and open it up. It'll feed 75amax/elds just fine
My bad that’s an aics you are sharing. Yes could not agree more. The aics will get me anything I need. I’ll pop these out if I can’t get the 75s or 77s to shoot

Every time I tell myself "enough" y'all have to be bad influences and make me want to try something else on my Ranch.

I’ve been skimming through the thread trying to find something on this topic and not seeing it. I have a RA in 6 creed that shoots awesome for me. It’s AICS. My only complaint is that it doesn’t feed great. It’s ok most of the time but will jam probably 2 out of 10 rounds. I’ve tuned the mad “lips” to feed from the mag to the bore better. Anything else I can do?

I have the gen 2 in 6 creed. I only use the magpul mags, but I don’t have this problem. I also don’t push the bolt forward slowly. It’s not like glass like my tikkas, but that’s the missing 5%….

I used factory Ruger and Magpul AICS mags and ram the bolt hard and never had any jamming issues.

And I’ll agree with above. None of them have ever been Tikka smooth, but I’ve never had the problem you’re experiencing.

I'm happy enough with the flush fit Duramags that I haven't tried AICS yet. 5.56 though, but no feeding issues.

I'm gonna head out today and get the 3-9x HD zero'd in the sub zero weather. I'm gonna try babying the bolt to see if it hangs up.

I'm interested what the Garmin says about the AAC 77g OTM velocity at -5* compared to 75*
