I’ve been skimming through the thread trying to find something on this topic and not seeing it. I have a RA in 6 creed that shoots awesome for me. It’s AICS. My only complaint is that it doesn’t feed great. It’s ok most of the time but will jam probably 2 out of 10 rounds. I’ve tuned the mad “lips” to feed from the mag to the bore better. Anything else I can do?

I have the gen 2 in 6 creed. I only use the magpul mags, but I don’t have this problem. I also don’t push the bolt forward slowly. It’s not like glass like my tikkas, but that’s the missing 5%….

I used factory Ruger and Magpul AICS mags and ram the bolt hard and never had any jamming issues.

And I’ll agree with above. None of them have ever been Tikka smooth, but I’ve never had the problem you’re experiencing.

I'm happy enough with the flush fit Duramags that I haven't tried AICS yet. 5.56 though, but no feeding issues.

I'm gonna head out today and get the 3-9x HD zero'd in the sub zero weather. I'm gonna try babying the bolt to see if it hangs up.

I'm interested what the Garmin says about the AAC 77g OTM velocity at -5* compared to 75*

Didn't even feed rough below zero today.

I'm a huge fan now. I'm even liking the OEM Tupperware stock after hogging out the barrel channel a little.

It'll be interesting to see how she does with hand loads.

I shot my 5.56 ranch today. Shot a 10 shot group with BH 77tmks about an inch, maybe a touch under. Then a 10 shot group of the AAC 75gr sabres a touch over 1.25”. Either would be fine in the rifle for 300 yard hunting.

Took me three shots to zero then a 7- shot group (rest of the mag) and a ten shot group off the bench to confirm with 77g AAC OTM before shooting prone and sitting.

Both were around 1.5" but it was cold enough that there was suppressor mirage after two shots and I was using a bipod and no rear bag.

Has anyone got their hands on one of the new “Patrol” models? Just curious how they are weight and balance wise. I want the black color over the colors of the others.

So, in keeping with my "skills not stuff" thread/commitment, I want to refrain from buying a stock or chassis, so I hogged out the OEM barrel channel so it can't flex and touch the barrel anymore.


I may stiffen it with epoxy, but I'll shoot it first

I’ve don the same on a few and have had good luck with from bipods afterwards.

My thought was that I can’t eliminate the flex, but I can keep it from touching.

That's good to hear. I'm going to gravitate towards positional practice off pack/lightweight bags more that using the bipod, but the concern is the same: I don't want any flex to allow the stock to touch the barrel when shooting

Picked up a field stock on Black Friday sale - stupid cheap and it certainly shoots nicer than stock. Definitely added some weight though, but I’ve never been super concerned with that.

I finally got on the 223 trainer bandwagon. Picked up a RAR the Friday after Christmas. Zeroed and plinked on Saturday and killed the last doe of the year with it on the following Sunday. There have only been a couple days since then that I haven't shot it. I love this thing.
