The REAPER from Unknown Suppressors

I can’t get my end cap or threaded adapter to carbon lock to the suppressor body they both keep coming loose. Today it passed 75 rounds of 7 PRC, a handful of 6.5 CM and a dozen .223. Any tips? Would a teeny dot of high temp thread lock be enough?

High temp loctite did not work for me. Came loose after 1 long range session. Rockset works.

Just a dot of rocket? Never used the stuff but seen how difficult it can be to remove if needed.

Yeah, I was very conservative with it. Haven’t had to remove it yet but I have read a 24hr soak in water and it can be removed.

I had a brake unscrew (suppressor mount brake) when I attempted to remove the suppressor with a few drops of Rocksett used on the muzzle. I soak that stuff on there now.

Similar to others above, I opted to use a few small drops of Rocksett on the end cap after I grew tired of it working loose. I haven’t removed it yet but I’ve removed multiple muzzle devices that were on there right with rocksett and all came off easily once I soaked them in boiling water for a few minutes.

Edit: This was on a scythe but still applies to the reaper I think.

Anyone compare the reaper to the airlock? Airlock is lighter and apparently 2db quieter.
But I can get a hub on the Reaper and quick attach it to my blackout SBR backpack gun.
I gotta retire my harvester evo. Use it for my future 223 trainer.

The manufacturer(s) list the Reaper at 127 and the Airlock 6.5 at 129.5. Obviously, on any given day, they could measure a little bit louder or quieter.

That's true. Lots of variables. Definitely want something quiet. Maybe even a TBAC Magnus k

Probably want a Magnus or Magnus S if quietness is your main priority.

133 SE dBA with standard .308 and 136 with 300 WM isn’t terrible. Should be about like the OG with standard .30 caliber cartridges. “Hearing safe” for one or two hunting shots, noticeably louder than the Reaper or Nomad at 127.

It will be interesting to see how the .30 caliber Airlock tests out at the TBAC summit next year. If it can come in at 4.5” and under 130, that will be impressive.

He said "I definitely want something quiet. Maybe even a magnus K" which i interpret as considering the magnus k to be a quiet can. It is not quiet compared to the majority of 30 cal cans on the market including the other 2 he mentioned considering.

I understand what you meant. I think people pay a lot for the TBAC name. I also think TBAC cans measure better than others in some respects (e.g. SE db vs SE dbA).

Y’all get ready to laugh, as I am about to show you how dumb I am.
Re the SRS brake…initially I thought that the brake itself was timed with shims. That is not correct. The suppressor itself is timed with the shims.
Depending on how one mounts their cans, this discovery might be serendipitous.

Now nobody else reading this has to be as dumb as I am.

You're definitely not the only one. I would have preferred shims on the brake if possible. I don't like the suppressor not being completely mated against the machined surface of the muzzle. I do think the brake adds some additional value to the Reaper.

Dunno if they’ll be allowed in next year. Something like a company needs to be around a year first, not sure if established or actual product offered.

I've got a TBAC Ultra 7 and love it. Going to shorter barrels id almost get another. I guess what compares to that the best in sound (lots of variables I know)?
The OG looks slick but I think I'd be disappointed. I need to just go hang out with Avery and demo some cans.

If that's an option do it! Otherwise look at the quick and dirty sound meter videos Form did above comparing against a TBAC ultra 7 at the same time.
