The pushup challenge

kept it going during the Grand Canyon rim to rim last weekend and getting a needle in one of my spinal discs yesterday, hurting a bit but now at 260. 50x60x50x50x50

took me 14 hours...

Actually, I haven't worked out consistently since mid September. This is a kind of a good idea.

Everyone has to start somewhere. Good job.

My daughter challenged me I couldn't do 100 in a row:)

If I did, she had to clean the house.... if I didn't, I had to take her to a movie.

I did 103 and still ended up taking her to a movie!

I held my class record at my academy. 100 even. I always do a lot of pushups daily anyways. Body weight excercises are often overlooked. Its a great way to build up and not injure youself.

I agree completely!

I learned real quick that if you wanna be in the Tripple digit club, you better be focusing on push ups and not as much on max bench #'s.

Last year 2012, I set a goal to get a thousand push-ups a week, I kept track and wrote them in my workout journal everyday. I ended up with 53,800 for the year. I did a bunch of different workouts, pyramids, 25-15-10 every 2 minutes for 20 minutes, I do Insanity 3-4 times a week, I kept track of the push-ups in the workout. I would superset 20 sets of 20 push-ups and 20 40 yd sprints. It was fun as a goal to do that many and keep track of them. Didn't keep track of them this year, I did quite a few, but not nearly as many. Needless to say when I was doing them my bench did not go up, I didn't look any different, but I could do a shit ton of push-ups. I think I'll get in on this, it always made me feel good mentally to know that I had done my push-ups everyday.

I've been doing this for the Month of January...every month kind of a different challenge. Up to 90 today!

Still going strong....month is halfway done. Busted out 150 pushups today. My co workers were mocking me telling me I needed to do "military style" (they are ex marine, navy, chair force) which is "3 count" which is basically 2 pushups for every "1" count.

yeah, its nice when i get to put my bags back on. especially during the off season like now. normally im running work but for the last 2 months ive gotten to just be a carpenter/iron worker again. makes me realize what a crap job being the boss is. i love just working hard for 8 and letting someone else have all the stress while i get a paid work out

Still chugging along...yesterday was tough. Was mentally just not into it. Powered through anyways...220 done today. Up to 2530 for the month!

Finished today! Did the extra forty to make it an even 5k pushups for January. NEXT month is same routine, for air squats, burpees, crunches, planks!
