Yeah, I agree. I have an elk load built, tested at 450 and 591 yards. It’s at 168 grain bullet though pushing 2950 fps. Kind of silly that I can’t use it either. Because it’s 7 grains light. They do make 175 grain bullets but it’s back to the drawing board. I think I’m gonna try and do it with the bow though. Still testing my fixed broad head situation.

Yeah I had to order +200gr bullets for my .300 Wby and send them to my sister's place out of state then grab them during a visit since nobody locally carried .300 Wby larger than 180gr. Just nonsense.

By the sounds of your write up of the hunt, he ate over 1,000 grains! Sounded like you needed a dinosaur load!
