Hey yall! I drew my once in a lifetime WY Bison tag and im hoping to be successful in the early season. I dont own stock and no ORV's either. Pure human power.

The main outfitter in the area that helps on bison hunts says they dont work WY til November.

Ive sent a few other outfitters inquiries. Does anyone know of a packer or a local that would consider packing out a bison from the Togwatee/ Spread Creek/Kelly, WY area in August or September?

I'll eat the elephant one bite at a time if I have to, but some help in the heat and bears would be amazing. Thanks for looking!

Andy

Sorry no references but would be very interested in how your hunt goes. All recent accounts I’ve heard say it’s very weather dependent. that the bulls aren’t out and about like before?

Good luck with the hunt

I drew that tag in 2009, hunted in Nov, and used the outfitter to pack your probably referencing so I’m no help. There’s a road system but it’s pretty limited from what I recall so your pack out could be a ways, obviously depending on where you kill. I was up there looking around July/aug the year I drew and think that time of year would be tough. Bring some help, they’re big. Good luck

You should be able to contact the state outfitter and guide board, or the local land manager to find out what outfitters are licensed for a specific location .
