Which part is untrue? Everybody dies or gets too old to hunt (and then dies). As long as points can't be transferred to another person and you can only gain one point per year, human longevity puts a (soft) cap on the maximum points any given tag will require. Point creep can certainly keep some tags out of some people's grasp, but I stand by my assertion that point creep can't continue ad infinitum...it will level off eventually.
In all western states that use a preference point system there are already max point holders (people who started accruing points the very first year the system was in place) who still cannot draw a tag simply because there are too many other max point holders and too few tags. Demand is increasing faster than people are moving through the system either by drawing the tag, giving up, or as you put it "human longevity".

Without recruitment of hunters the bottom falls out from under the North American model of wildlife conservation. If that happens, what would take its place would likely be something that does not include hunting/hunters since we are a minority, which you already pointed out.

The max point holder pool for elk in Colorado consists of 2 residents sitting on 38 pts (before this year's draw, now they're at 39 pts because they both applied for another point instead of a tag). The highest point elk tag awarded in this year's primary draw was the one first rifle RFW tag for unit 84 (drawn out at 32 pts). Either of those two max point holders could've drawn that tag (or any other elk tag in the state) if they wanted it. If they both happened to apply for the same tag with a quota of 1, the unsuccessful guy would be guaranteed to get it the next year. The max point holder pool in Colorado will get more crowded in the short-to-medium term, but it's not yet so saturated that "there are already max point holders (people who started accruing points the very first year the system was in place) who still cannot draw a tag simply because there are too many other max point holders and too few tags".

I get that. we are not even a little close to the bottom falling out. Ie the massive demand for tags and opportunities to hunt virtually everywhere you can hunt, therefore if we add anothet 5-10% of the population to hunt, we will have even less chance to be able to while at the same time still be in a voting minority, ie unable to fight ballot with hunters voices alone. We need to be good stewards and representatives of the lifestyle/sport and convince the non hunting majority that what we are doing adds value
