The 6UM

Better attention to detail, quality control, small owned business not a conglomerate. BAT actions just exude high craftsmanship.
Pretty sure there are just as many defiance as bat actions at the top level benchrest and f class events around the country.

I like bat better myself, but when raw micro-accuracy is the game, they compete at the same level.

I'm not crazy about how they have bats all over it. Also, they aren't made in Montana 😀

Any one running a 18” barreled 6um 40? I got 3115 fps average on 5 shots? Going to shoot a larger group agin soon and the load is 66 grains of 570 at 60 thou with 115 dtacs.

What load? My 6UM30 is shooting 3100 with an 18."
66 of n570. Granted I didn’t spend a lot of time with the load before hunting season. And there are a few things I want to double check when I have some free time. It’s hard to find the time with a newborn right now…

Here are the 3 charge weights I did all 60 thou and 115 dtac’s

BAT dominates short and long range BR by a huge margin. You’ll almost never see a Defiance. Borden are pretty of common but still get outweighed by BAT’s. F Class sees probably mostly Kelbly followed by probably Borden and BAT, hardly any Defiance. Defiance still makes a fine action. I prefer BAT but I own Defiance and there’s nothing wrong with it at all.
