I did the 6UM-30 with a 20" barrel and TBAC Ultra 7. This thing is awesome - almost no recoil, stays on target, low noise. Win, win, win. I shot 100 yard groups today to do some preliminary load dev. Initial results with 115 DTAC in ADG brass loaded to 2.950" below.Another 6UM entering the chat… Just picked up from Unknown Munitions yesterday. They killed it on the cerakote. Range day tomorrowView attachment 955597
Hey 6 UM dudes, I’ve been following this thread and the podcasts since it came out. I wanted to wait and see how it aged, also for components to stabilize. Pretty much ready to jump on the band wagon, but have some questions and that’s a lot of pages to go, though I’ll slowly go back through them.
What twist has been settled on?
Everyone using 115 dtac’s exclusively?
N570 seems to be the go to powder, other than retumbo, anyone try n560/565, RL26, etc?
What speed deficit/or benefit between the 6UM-30 vs blowing out to 40?
Edited to add, is the easy button with brass, the 6-30? Seems so, just not sold on if the 30* vs 40* is worth it?

Can you tell me who does? No.

Hoover precision arms has a reamer in northwest Montana. He’s spun up all of mine for me. It might be worth throwing out a general area just so people can narrow down which smiths would be easy for you to work with. I’m guessing there’s quite a few reamers floating around at this point but I could be wrong.

I am in the Northwest. I am the problem. Once I get a build in my head, I am a very much a“instant gratification “ guy. 5-6 month turnaround times don’t do it for me. Yes, I get it, that is how this industry rolls. I just want to be able to smash a Coues Deer in January with a 6UM.Hoover precision arms has a reamer in northwest Montana.
