We do prefits for Tikkas and BATs. BATs are spot on with consistency and Tikkas are pretty good. It is still best to have the action in hand. We also have 6 UM-30 reamers in stock at this moment.
Whidden has the 6 UM-30 die making reamers so you can order the dies from us, but it still takes about 10 weeks.
I have had a set of dies on back order for a while now and have brass and an action. Just need to get the barrel. I understand that have the action in hand is always preferred. Just surprised it’s required considering the consistency of so many custom actions and that so many other gunsmiths and barrel manufacturers offer prefits. It is just an extra hassle and cost for the customer. I’ll probably get a reamer and have my smith spin up a prefit now that they are available.
