Would love to hear an in depth discussion from him on the podcast about his observations with the smaller diameter bullets vs the big mags.

Thats excellent penetration and you cant question the performance. I am assuming that since it penetrated so far, the bullet retained a lot of mass? And assuming its a DTAC, the great terminal performance and a lot of penetration means it tumbled rather than expanded? I guess thats what I am visualising from the description.

Is ADG going to be producing 6PRC (6-6.5PRC) brass too? Did I miss this somehow?

Unfortunately I was butchering alone in 20 degrees and 20-30mph winds that were driving all of the snow from the night before off the ground and into any bare skin I had so I didn’t get any autopsy pictures but the 108 ELDM at 2165fps had no problem destroying both lungs. I snuck between the ribs high lung and still found fragments of the jacket in the heart so there was plenty of damage. There was even a piece in the knuckle of the front leg when I went to break the legs off, guessing it traveled down the leg to get there. Shot was taken leaning back against the ground (it was steep enough the hard part was keeping from sliding down hill) with my pack standing up in my lap. Spotting impact was not a problem.
Bull took three steps falling forward and the end of the third step was on his face. Down in 5-10 seconds. Very happy with the 6um/rokstock/vesper combo.

Every time I’ve had a gun built in the last ten or so years and I’ve dropped it off for cerakote they’ve asked me what I wanted and my reply was “you can paint it pink and draw d!cks on it for all I care I just want it to shoot good” eventually I started thinking they didn’t believe me so we made it happen. It must be more obvious in pictures because when you hand it to someone they notice they pink and the word kindness but most people never even catch the rest. Where have you guys seen it before?

All fallisus aside, I like the color scheme and the layout. I'd rock that stock. One stock in pink, one in orange, and one in green would let you know which rifle you were grabbing.

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I just recently found this thread, read through the whole thing, and thought the in depth explanations of the way the 115 DTAC performs to be super interesting. If I understand this right, it fragments at high impact velocities (2200ish fps and above ?), tumbles at low impact velocities (down to 1500ish fps ?), or some combination of both at the velocities in between. Even though the specific way the bullet performs (fragments, tumbles, etc.) is highly variable from shot to shot, the amount of damage done is always impressive. Please let me know if I have missed something, as I have no personal experience with this bullet.

1. Of all the bullets that have been thoroughly tested, does the 115 DTAC have the widest range of impact velocities in which it is terminally effective? (3000ish-1500ish) Is there anything that comes close, or is better?

2. The 95 tmk, 108 eldm, and 103 eldx, are all highly recommended bullets that all seem to upset reliably on impacts above 1800 fps. What happens when they impact below 1800 fps? Why don’t they tumble like the DTAC?

Generally that’s correct, however the DTAC really stops consistently, and heavily fragmenting around 2,400fps- sometimes- even often it will down to around 2,200fps. It’s variable, however generally destroys tissue well; though below 2,400’iah fps impact it is not my preference for deer as it often only yaws (tumbles) in the offside lung.

Thanks Form! I heard you on the Exo podcast a few months back and realized I knew nothing about terminal ballistics or bullet construction. I am still trying to wrap my head around it all, and the information you have been putting out is super helpful!
