Cool build! I’m guessing the 115 d tac’s can survive 3400 in a 7 twist? Seems risky with a can, but I have no experience with the d tacs. Just curious as I was talking to Rich the other day about building a 6 Mega to run suppressed.

Definitely a chance. 350,000 RPM's is a lot. I believe the 115 is made by Sierra. Guys have the 95 SMK come apart at less RPM's than that. Obviously the specs could be completely different.

@Ryan what did you go with for groove configuration?

Interested to hear what you end up with, I know this type of round is not new in your head from hearing of similar ran in tx in prs and hunting. Glad you got one together.

If someone has built one I would love to chat with them. I haven’t found one yet searching the internet.
I have found lots of info on the 6mm SAUM but not an improved version.

It looks like the 6UM will have a little better barrel life than a 28 Nosler.

We are going to find out. I think I read the Dtac had a thicker jacket than the TMK.

If made by Sierra it will probably hold. I’ve been running the 25cal 131BJ made by Sierra at 343k in a 5 groove barrel with a high round now and have never had issues.

It was the 6 saum, they hadn't improved it, but at the time of bertram they were pushing crazy velocities

Ryan ,
Curious about the weight of the tikka action with the #3 fluted barrel?

Don’t know I will weight it when I have it apart. The rifle is 8.1 pounds all up with mag.

Finally got some rounds loaded. Should have some speeds next weeks. I started with VV565 but I don’t think that will be “the powder”

The water capacity is 75g

6UM next to a 6CM

I'm not sure what length mag you are using but xlr makes a few different 3rounders.1672450209232968515086109432128.jpg
