The 22 creedmoor thread

Both work great and are quick.

I made this video for a buddy of mine who was interested in buying the Revics, give it a watch and see what you think.

Overview:

The Shot:

On the Gen 2 Revic prototypes, they display the elevation and wind separately, so all the data comes up at the same moment you get the range. What I saw wasn't enough for me to upgrade, but I did like the Gen 2 over my originals that way.

I saw that as well but was told not to talk about it yet haha.

It will be a nice upgrade but like you said, not a deal breaker for me yet 👍🏻

85.5g Bergers or 88 ELDM’s for deer hunting. Both shoot great in my gun. I’m leaning 85.5’s.
How far are you hunting? I havent tested the lower end of 85.5's but inside 350 they have been fantastic for me

Probably less than 400 yards and most likely around 100! I hunt farms in KY and have long shots but most years it seems I wind up shooting around 100.

Thought some of you folks might like to see this from the “scope zero check thread”…

Rifle: Tikka T3X Chambered in 22 Creedmoor. McGowen 20” stainless barrel. Suppressed with Polonium K. Wood Rokstok. High Desert Bottom Metal. Waters Magazine.

Scope: Maven RS1.2 SHR MIL.

Scope Mounting: UM Tikka Low Rings and Bases (using the provided threaded pins). All degreased, torqued, and paint penned in per @Formidilosus specs.

Shooting Position: Prone from a Walmart sleeping pad. Had to use the Jeep for shade as it was already 90 degrees by 7 am.

Spartan short bipod for front rest. Very low fill, lightweight rear field bag. Off hand controls the butt stock, bag used to "fill the void" is all.

Time/Activity Since Last Zero Check:

This 80 ELDX ammo lot was first shot and zeroed on 4/22/25 during load development and 500 more rounds were loaded the same spec.

It’s since been on a plane ride and back from Wyoming, bounced around in the backseat of my Jeep and Truck for hundreds of miles, packed around for dozens of shooting days, and was used for the CBC last weekend and this week.

The barrel and suppressor now have 300 rounds through them and seem to have stabilized nicely. Neither has ever been cleaned sorry.

For the nerds like me… I have 3275 FPS loaded into my current ballistics profiles and used for hard dope cards. Today I shot 8 shots (forgot to bring the Garmin out for first two shots) early morning off the hood of my Jeep before “going for a group” of 5 shots later in the morning. Note the average velocity from both sessions. This lot of ammo has maintained 1-2 FPS for every 5-20 shot string average I’ve chrono’d so far.

Zero Check and Target Results:

No surprises.

I though you weren’t reloading anymore and just shooting factory eld-X?

I blame you for my switch to 22 creed. And now wanting wood rokstoks.
Haha. It’s too much fun.

Truthfully I’m finding that with 5 different 22 creed barrels now, the 80 Ms and 88 Ms are shooting well across the board along with the 77 TMKs.

The 80 Xs are taking a lot of “tweaking” to get to shoot. I did have one lot of factory 80 ELDX that shot well in two different guns, but most lots have been pretty crappy.

It’s a cartridge and bullet combo that I’ll be hunting with for the foreseeable future so it’s worth taking the time to get those 80 Xs to shoot for me.

I had to bring in a secret weapon of @huntnful to help with the load dev 😎

The 80ms are what I plan to shoot based on the test group out of the preferred barrel I have. I’ll try the eldx as well just to see how they fair.

Has anyone done a +p version of this cartridge? I have read thru this thread before but it has been a minute so if it has been discussed already my bad.

Maybe when I get closer to the end of my barrel life, I'll see if UM will +P it, for science. 3350 would be pretty sweet out of an 18" barrel.
What do you think @Ryan Avery ?
