Shooting both out of my 16” 223rem and 20” 22arc once you start going past 600 yards it’s very obvious the 80s drift less than the 75s much more so than the calculators show. I havnt shot them side by side enough in my 22creed yet to get the best comparison at higher speeds but I would like to test this.
At 1000yds in a 22creed 16” Bbl I wouldn’t think the wind drift difference is just .1mil in a 10mph cross wind on avg, but every barrel and load is different. Going off shooting both in my 223rem and 22arc the 80s have had less drift at distance.

What kind of velocities are you getting with the 22 ARC and 223 with the 80’s?

223rem 16” 2650fps/Varget 24gr
22ARC 20” 2930fps/Varget 28.5gr

Both mild loads.
With the 22arc I was at 3020fps with varget and tested a Hornady case that easily got 10xs. This is seated deep in the case at 2.235 coal to fit in an AR mag length in a ruger bolt gun. And looking at Hornady’s bolt gun data If you use cfe223 or lvr powder it will give you an additional 75-100fps over varget.

ACE started with .218 bores but added .219 option around May this year. If you care, I’d ask if the .219 option adds any duration to the wait, added 5 or so months to my “in stock” purchase. I wouldn’t think it’d make a difference in lead time now though.
I purchased an in stock Ace tikka Sporter from UM a couple months ago and didn’t even think to check on the bore. It is a .219 so assuming they are going with that now unless I got a random one.

Couldn’t get the Staball 6.5 to group like I wanted so I went back to H4350. 39gr averaged 3100 over 8 shots with the 88 ELDM and a 20” barrel. Shot this 10 round group at 100 tonight.

I’ll say this. The first 40-50 rounds had me a little nervous. I couldn’t get the 88’s to shoot very well and was about to jump ship. Two weekends ago I backed my load down 1gr and it is doing much better ever since.

Ehh. So far about 1.5 MOA. I’m switching powders to see.
Shot 100 rounds of factory Hornady Precision Hunter 80 Grain ELDX ammo this morning. They hope to have this on major store shelves soon…

Factory Tikka 8 Twist Barrel Cut to 19” and threaded. I set up the Garmin for the first 40 shots, no breaks in between shots other than reloading mags. So from completely cold bore, to barrel so hot you can’t touch it.

Hornady claims 3285 from 24” barrel. My results…

Shot another 40 from the plastic table at 100 yards with front and rear bags, focusing in on grouping. I’m seeing right at 1 MOA or slightly better across 4 different 10 shot groups.

Moved to prone with a bipod and shot 20 rounds at 300 yards. Roughly a 3” square. Winds were steady from 9 o clock 3-6 mph with gusts to 11 mph.

Again, seeing right at 1 MOA or slightly better.

If you are not suppressing 20 is too short, 22 will get you a bit more velocity and less noise
Fair enough but I've grown accustom to 20" length barrels and even my 24" 280 feels like a broom stick now. 20" will give me plenty of speed for the distances I'm building this rifle for. If it was going to have a brake it would be 18.5" which is minimum for Canada in a non factory rifle. 20" finished is my preference

Had a couple messages on my post above from this morning; posting here for transparency if anyone else is wondering...

.Originally a Tikka .22-250 Stainless 8 Twist Barrel.
.Round count on the barrel is now 320 total fired, half with 77 TMK and half with 80 ELDX.
.No it has never been cleaned, it just seemed to now settle in with the 80 ELDX's velocity wise (first 100 were slower and had higher SD).
.Sight height is the same as on all my Tikkas with Maven RS1.2 and UM low rings, 1.74" (nerd alert, measuring using a calibrated high accuracy rotating laser, this is not necessary). I mount all my scopes this way as well because I have it, again, overkill and not needed.
.Dope is trued on a 18" plate with 4" water line, using .485 G1 BC and current DA. Consistent impacts at 800 yards roughly 1,830 FPS impact velocity.
.Yes I will be using this for big game hunting (along with other guns) this season with the 80 ELDX's. I can post kill results here.

You and form really have me thinking hard about trying those eldx bullets. Knowing I have a a pretty solid 88 load I can always fall back to. Terminally are you guys expecting the eldx to preform better than the 88 or are we just splitting hairs at this point?
