Yuck. The biggest selling feature for me is the integral dovetail on a Tikka. Why would I want to add in an unnecessary joint that can slip?A rail can solve most mounting issues.

Cause you can't badmouth a Tikka...even though 90% of Tikka conversations are about what to change before you actually use them.Yuck. The biggest selling feature for me is the integral dovetail on a Tikka. Why would I want to add in an unnecessary joint that can slip?
I don’t know many that use the dovetail. All use the D&T mounts-ring mounts. I have a couple of Sako 85’s also, and while the dovetail works, it limits mounting options. (another rant) With the new Sako 90, Sako has gone to an integral pic rail. Times are changingYuck. The biggest selling feature for me is the integral dovetail on a Tikka. Better than trying to figure out why they won't shoot, feed, eject, or why the grooves in the bore aren't there or how to find a reliable and safe trigger!Cause you can't badmouth a Tikka...even though 90% of Tikka conversations are about what to change before you actually use them.
That's only on those "spensive" rifles. I buy plain Janes with tang safeties.Better than trying to figure out why they won't shoot, feed, eject, or why the grooves in the bore aren't there or how to find a reliable and safe trigger!
You can say that again! Before I got mine, I thought for a while I had to commit prior to buying that I would jerk the barreled action out of the factory stock and drop it into an aftermarket stock.Cause you can't badmouth a Tikka...even though 90% of Tikka conversations are about what to change before you actually use them.
UM rings with the expanded recoil pin location options help out a lot with that.while the dovetail works, it limits mounting options.
Supposed to get it next week, getting close to two monthsGod bless you my child. It is now January 11th, 2025. Is it back yet and is it fixed?
