99% sure it's gonna be the Area 419 hellfire, but I do have the luxury of being patient with this one and seeing if something better presents itself. If somebody made a m15x1 DT adapter I'd just buy this rifle it's own Can and call it good lol.

Here is what I previously mentioned. That would save you $100+ and  maybe an ounce over the Area419 Ti setup. A Ti version of that DT adapter would be ideal though.

It'll cost me $1000 because I'll buy another Can for it lol, kinda doing 1 Can per barrel thread pitch is what I'm ending up with. I don't want to swap hub adapters back and forth if I can help it. That's a solid option though and gets me up and running right now. I'm hoping somebody making titanium adapters will gear up for the m15x1 threads, maybe with more of these Tikka's hitting the market a little demand will spur it.

Feel like the Rokstock Lite is going to be outstanding for Tikkas in mild chamberings. That's something like a 12oz saving versus the factory Tikka stock.

With that many Creedmoors in the house, I can see a solid argument to stick with the 6.5CM. The 6 ARC (in my opinion), seems a bit underpowered for anything bigger than deer, and (though slower 223 and 308 powders work) to get the most velocity out of it you need something a little to slow for most 308/223, but too fast for Creedmoors. (that is assuming you reload)

If you don't reload, then with all the Creedmoors in the house, you can likely make the math look like you could save money by reloading (though in reality you probably will just shoot more instead).

7 lbs 3 oz scoped with 3.5-10x50 and Talley Xtra lows. No ammo, no suppressor.
Edit: That's with Alumina caps.

$1000 isn't chump change for me right now, but I love new firearms and offseason fever is getting to me.

Current is a 6.5 PRC coming in at 9 lbs 2 oz scoped weight before suppressor, 9 lbs 11 oz suppressed.
I'm looking at a Tikka Superlight Roughtech in 6.5 CM that would come in at 7 lbs 10 oz scoped weight before suppressor, 8 lbs 3 oz suppressed.

I view the calibers as a wash, same projectiles.
I view the accuracy as probably minute of shooter difference.

What I like is the 1.5 lbs lighter weight for carrying for 7 days up and down the mountains. Cheaper ammo is a slight bonus as well.

Is 1.5 lbs enough to make that much of a difference? I realize I can easily cut 1.5 lbs elsewhere, but I could also do that in addition to the 1.5 lbs for the rifle.

I think we should all own whatever we want. Sometimes we have to okay them in our head. 1.5 pounds to me isn’t a big deal. Not eniugh to warrant a new purchase, you should buy just cause you want to. If yiur safe is too full, buy another. Do you own a business by chance? Need a tax deduction? I needed 3 last year haha

If you have the current threads cut off and rethread it, you will save about 2 ounces then.

Oh man this rabbit hole has no bottom lol. $135 plus shipping both ways to have it cut to 18 or 16 and threaded in non-commie pattern actually doesn't seem too bad. Saves weight on mount system and weight from however much barrel I cut off too.

I guess I'm sticking with DT and abandoning the Area 419 plan. Figured I'd order that custom and see how it works, he just finished building it and sent me a pic of my adapter.

Been following along as I’m looking at these 20” Roughtec superlites on sale as well as just getting a basic T3x stainless in a 6.5 CM or PRC for $700 and just getting it chopped and threaded 5/8x 24 with a shoulder for $125. I have a Nomad Xc direct thread so is there a problem just using the adapter tikka has w the super lite ?

It should be just fine to use the stock adapter. It's just one more interface and added length & mass.

I did but I know he made two of them because I mentioned there were others and told him about the Tikka's on sale with the m15x1 so he may have another one ready to go. Shoot him an email, he's quick to respond. We've been going back and forth talking about custom front caps now too. He had me order on the GB link and then made it to my specs, think he's using GB to manage his sales or something hopefully he gets off of that soon. I get the feeling he's just getting started. My adapter looks great but I haven't mounted it on anything yet to test. I'm hoping I can provide some actual feedback this weekend.

Not to take over the thread, but I realized I never replied back after shooting this rifle. I have the 6.5 Creedmoor 20" ember superlite that was on clearance. It's a sweet setup. It appears to be cerakote over stainless. Mine also came with the vertical grip, which was unexpected and appreciated!

I have it set up with a Maven RS1.2, Area419 rail, Warne Mountain Tech rings, upgraded recoil pad, and a DD S-Ti supressor w/ LS Wild cover and the titanium C&S armory adapter. I will install a cheek riser this weekend.

I bought a few boxes of factory ammo to test out and compare velocities to hand loads (soon).

I put one round on paper at 50 yards, adjusted the scope closer to the center of the target and the put 3 rounds in the same hole. Love it.


I then backed it up to 100 yards to test the two I was most interested in hunting with. Only 3 round groups, just trying to get some initial data.


Next range trip, I loaded up my first 6.5 reloads primarily looking for pressure near max load using Form's painless load method - only I used two rounds for each of 3 powder charges (max book load, -.5grn, and +.5grn). All seemed fine, even with the +.5 grain load that I wanted to include as some form of margin testing.

I loaded up a bunch a bunch more and went back with the sole purpose of shooting larger sample sizes.


I'd say great results so far!

Nice, sounds like an awesome setup. I've only shot mine once but it lives the factory Hornady 147gr M's which is great because that's what I was hoping to shoot. I used Talley Xlow rings and a 25 year old VX-L. Bore site was on paper 5" low straight down, adjusted 20 clicks up and 2nd shot went directly in the bullseye, 3rd and 4th were close well inside the bullseye but unfortunately we can't walk downrange at this shooting range to get pics. From there I went over to the steel and center punched the 200 and 300 yard plates effortlessly. It has to be the easiest most boringly exciting range trip I've ever had. This was my first Tikka and I'm a bit annoyed it took me so long to jump onboard.

I never updated on that ultralight C&S adapter. I Rocksett'd it on the new B&T Ranger and it worked as expected for the trip, Can didn't blow off the end so I guess it went well lol. It's a pretty great combo.

Incredibly consistent results can definitely be boring haha.
