Tags in New Mexico

I went all red for six years as a resident. I finally drew two great tags last year, and this year I drew four.
Pronghorn
Elk
BH Ewe
Mule deer
All added up it’s about 30 days of field time inside of 60 days. It’s gonna be crazy.

Nothing worse than all red! I pulled late elk, late deer and ibex all bow my vacation time for next year is ruined! I have all of January to hunt! Ibex I'll probably only do weekends!

All red for my wife and I, but luckily my boss is going to let us private land deer hunt on the ranch we live on.

Coues Deer in Unit 24 in November... 4th tag in 4 years in New Mexico.

How do you like that unit for a Coues?

I think there are some good Coues in there somewhere. I couldn’t find a single buck. Thinking about trying it one more time before I give up on the unit entirely.

Not a bad setup at all.. i was considering this unit simply because it’s close to silver city and one could conceivably stay in town and hunt during the day. I saw a bunch of Coues just outside of town driving the roads but no bucks. Not sure where I want to go in NM this year
