TAG Bags Recall

Funny, I was just reading this post today and wondering when Mr. Bartlett's bags would be back in stock? I guess his ears were ringing...

I apologize if I'm derailing this thread, but have a question for Mr. Bartlett (not regarding the recall). I currently own a set of Bomb bags plus a Regular set, and I am going moose hunting in Newfoundland this September. I'd rather not purchase a whole new set for a moose, so what size/how many bags would you say are required to supplement my current set for a boned out moose?

Thanks...

Got my replacements today! Thanks for the awesome service Larry.

I live about 30 minutes from Larry, so I might have received mine faster than others, but it looks like it's all good to go now!

I know I'm not Larry but I've got a lot of experience with these bags and moose. Get a set of the large Tag Bags and I suggest, if at all possible, do not debone your moose. Leave it on the bone as it will crust over nicely that way, with loose meat in the bag the meat does not get good air circulation without you rotating it every few hours. As long as temps are cool this is the best way to hang moose meat. I've put probably 10 or so bulls in these Tag Bags over the years and have had excellent results each time doing it the way I described above.

I'm sure Larry will chime in when he gets time but I just wanted to throw that out there for you to consider.

Thanks, I had the thought of keeping the meat on the bone and getting a set of moose bags. I'll have to ask the outfitter how they field dress the animal? Shipping the meat on the bone doesn't seem economical or practical. So, I was thinking eventually the meat had to be deboned, hence the original question. I appreciate the advice.

29 February, 2016: Yo critter killas, I have my paws on the new TAG Bags inventory and have begun the mind numbing game of "prep and ship."

Please be patient, but know your product will arrive post haste.

I appreciate every one of you for the support, despite this situation's temporary inconvenience. Good season to all who want to get their new bags bloody!

Chipp...The BOMB Bag set will support a meat load of between 200-300 lbs (depending on hwo small each muscle group is broken down).

Despite the fact that a moose load weighs around 600lbs give or take 100lbs, the muscle groups are HUGE compared to a sheep or elk.

It would take a minimum of 3 sets of Bomb Bags to hold a moose load. I would not buy 2 more sets at $61...instead buy 1 set for moose and then use your BOMB Bags for other harvests or as a support for the larger set on a moose hunt.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Larry, I'll get mine sent back next week. Awesome product! I've never had high end bags before. I put them through a bear and two deer and they were great. Yes they are starting to come apart but they still could have handled another animal.

Larry, if we sent you an email claiming the defective bags, will you be sending replacements? Or, is there more that we need to do?

I sent an email with a photo, but never sent my bags back or got an email back from you with any more instruction.

I have purchased TAG bags in the past and haven't had any issues. After reading Larrys posts and replies you can consider me a lifetime customer! Customer service and standing behind your product goes a long ways. Thanks again Larry!

Brightwhite, i've replied to everyone who has sent an email that I received, but my spam or yours might have hinged our commo.

Send me your full name and address, and which set you have that's bad.

[email protected] (or PM here)

No need to send the bad ones back.

Thanks Larry, I just re-forwarded the email that I sent you originally back in November. I will also shoot you a PM right now.
