Exo K4 Pack Accessories

To say the Exo bags are obsolete would be a stretch. I look at the terratorn bag and my first thought is the fact it is ugly af, functional, but ugly, kinda like that girl from high school...
Once you get one you'll wish you had sooner and then every time you have to get into your factory exo bag, if you even continue to use it, it will be with angst wishing you had just brought the one that works right.

Stash pockets. You can have multiple (6 spots for one on a 3600). I don't use all 6, but I do leave stuff stored in a stash pocket and just grab the one I need.

Two regular nalgene holders.

Two hip belt pockets.

I like the rifle carrier for what it is. Better than putting the rifle under the compression straps if you want it on your pack.

2 sets of locking buckles.

The crib if you plan to train with it.

I want, but do not have, the inReach holder.
Wait there are 6 internal clips on a 3600 for stash pockets? I only found two

Also what do you like using locking buckles for?

Pretty new to this pack and still figuring out how I like it set up, so I’m sure I’m missing some opportunities to make it more functional

There are two loops in the main compartment. One in the wet compartment. One in the lid. And one at the top of each zippered side pocket.

The locking buckles are nice if using the straps to hold something like a rifle or bow as sometimes the buckle angle on such an object will let a none locking buckle work loose.

Orange lid, crib panel, Nalgene holder, and just get all locking buckles. The locking buckles are easy to use.

I use one stash and one hip pocket.

I also like the rifle carrier.

I'd rather get my ass kicked than ever touch a locking buckle again. I understand their use case for some people but they're not for me at all.
To each their own. Normally I scrap locking buckles that come on stuff, but the Exo version is really good. Have you tried an Exo one?

Great pack, and great advice here. I run the hipbelt pouch on one side and the nalgene holder on the other, stash sacks are nice, and the gun carrier works fine. It holds the rifle tight to the side of the pack, no wobble, and easy to grab. Locking buckles are great for a tripod or whatever. I'm running the 3600 without the lid for full day hunts, but I have the extra straps the hook into the top of the bag which are great for securing and packing out the skull/rack.

Hi. I'm about to order a K4 and was wondering which accessories I should order along with it.

I'm thinking of getting the hip belt pouch, Tallboy nalgene holder, and the quick release rifle carrier. Anything else I should consider?
The molly lok pistol holster is a must. Very tight fit doesn't move around and is a must in the while hunting anywhere if you ask me.

I forgot the other straps for running it with out a lid. I have those too. I use them with the 2200.

I think I am also in the minority in that I like the Exo rifle carrier. It holds my rifle tight to the pack and it doesn't bounce around. I'm pretty tall and lanky with good mobility in my shoulders still so it's not too hard for me to undo the clip to grab my rifle while the pack is on my back. To get the rifle back in the carrier though, I have to take off the pack. Hasn't bother me too much yet. I do have the Slik Sling V2 that I tried to attach to my K4, but I didn't like how everything mounted up and I couldn't get it to hold my rifle as close to the pack as I would have liked. To be fair, I did not mess around with it too much.

For other accessories, definitely a nalgene holder and hip belt pocket. I've got two of the stash bags, one for my kill kit and one for medical and other important supplies.

Kifaru gun bearer lower and Slik Sling upper are the bees knees IMO

I thought invented that combo! I tried the Kifaru, the Slik Sling and the Exo carrier, and after using them all, I ended up with the exact combo you're talking about.
Pictures of how you have the slik sling setup on top? Do you have the rifle ride behind the shoulder or under the armpit?

Behind the shoulder. Super easy. Here’s an older pic when I was using the Exo lower and a Slik V2 upper. The Kifaru lower is easier to work with and I just got a V3 upper, so no more threading webbing through a clamp buckle.

Nalgene pouch is great. I personally did not like the tall boy version due to how hard it was to get back in. I’d like to run 2 Nalgene pouches but that would be in the way of the rifle carrier.

I like the rifle carrier. I hated the slik sling I had before it.

II like the hip belt pouches just nice to stash a couple items in.

The stash pockets are fine. Nothing ground breaking but are good organization for zero weight.

I could give or take the inreach mini pouch. Nothing wrong with it. It does its job.
