I haven’t used one but have seen quite a few users disappointed with image quality over like 10x

I’ve had three of them. They all sucked past 10x.
Not unusable, just very much worse than not past 10x. The fixed 10x is just as good with less disappointment being you can’t move it and considerably cheaper. The 6x is where it’s at for the fixed scopes. The maven is too good not to have it when considering variable power at the price difference in my opinion.

I’m trying to figure out where a 10x would fit in the scheme of rifles I have. I like the 6x I have as it just being simple and working in reasonable ranges and the glass is spot on. 10x might be nice at extended ranges but I don’t see myself replacing a 6x with a 10x. I’m interested to see how these shake out and will certainly come back to buy a second gen 6x or 3-9 and relegate my gen 1 6x to a stand by/back up.

I'm hoping that 10X is reasonable for >200yds. It has been a while since I have shot a whitetail offhand lol

Do you have a gen 1 to compare these to? Curious if they are still pretty much the same or if there appear to some internal changes like reticle thickness glass etc.
Sorry don't. Glass seems pretty clear. Did look through it at twlight and dark evening plus early morning. This dog will hunt. Jmho . I did have some concern about illumination lack of I mean, but my 63 year old eyes could see the reticle well.

My quick impressions of G1 versus G2, both 10x Milquads.

Capped turret covers are ridiculously long and thick. But the uncovered turrets are slimmer in diameter than Gen 1 (and the turret 'tower' under the turret caps is shorter). Turrets in total are almost exactly as tall as Gen 1. I think a lot of people will use a rubber cap or similar to cap off the windage rather than the provided capped turret covers. You could even chop down the turret itself, as folks did with Gen 1.

Gen 2 scope seems a bit lighter overall likely because of the slimmer turrets. In short, I think there are definite improvements but I'd prefer lower profile, capped windage and a lower profile elevation turret.

That looks like a very different erector system.

Internal turret diameter looks a bit narrower, the turret post is definitely different. Not sure about internal changes
Look into the objective with a flashlight. Sometimes you can see the erector tube and other parts. You might be able to discern differences between g1 and g2 if there are any

I don't see any discernible differences.

I’m really tempted to get one of those to put on my SPR. Between that and a Trij Credo 2-10X36 FFP.

Here is a quick run down of the FFP 3-15x42 and the 10x with a comparison to the Maven RS 1.2 and Trij Tenmile

I still say...because I have one ....this is the best scope they have. Super clear and only gets a lil puffy at 10. I have it on a 308....wow.
