SWFA business model?

My choice of words was very purposeful. I KNOW that they are contracting their retail footprint, because there is abundant evidence. I don't KNOW that the contraction is part of a downsizing strategy. It could be argued, and probably would be given the level of pedantry in this thread, that closing their store was not downsizing, but rather reorganizing/restructuring.

Ohh he figured out how to type “downsizing” but still has no clue what it means.

When you restructure by trimming unprofitable divisions, that’s downsizing 😂

It could be parents’

Contracting or downsizing - ignoring the label and conceding (for the sake of argument) that it has taken place, I don’t know the conclusion, as the action could have been involuntary (as I *believe* is the contention of @Fartrell Cluggins), or it could have been voluntary (as has been pointed out by others). In either event, the result could be bad, or good. We just don’t know.

For those who think the SWFA model is bad, are there other companies who don’t have the ability to immediately fill orders (think 77gr TMK) or that have “contracted” or “downsized” in some way (or otherwise changed their business model) and have still succeeded? For the latter, I could compare Blockbuster (a successful company that didn’t adapt) to Netflix - a company that helped end Blockbuster but which has completely changed by “contracting” or “downsizing” mailing DVDs (eventually to zero), and changed from merely distributing content to also producing it. I’m sure there are others.

In another thread a scope manufacturer just replied to a post. Does anyone have a contact at SWFA who might give us some information?

You betcha'. Seemed perfectly appropriate given the whole of the circumstances.

This guy quotes urban dictionary as a source of word definitions 😂 you couldn’t make this shot up if you tried. That website is literally heard around made up words. I now have a much better understanding of why the shit you post makes no sense at all.

If you’re going for the 2023 rokslide award for dumbest post you are off to a hell of a start. This thread is full of winners.

This thread was a nice surprise this morning.

Always interesting listening to people who don’t work or have never worked in the industry.

However I am very upset I was not notified for the meme fest even if it was short lived.

My man! If we are open to the urban dictionary, then that helps with my ability to understand! I’m just chazzing.
I am good with it. I like my chances of nobody here hurting my last remaining feeling.

BTW, good catch with the possible "parents."

How do you know their storefront was "unprofitable?"

I don’t know their storefront was unprofitable, just like you don’t know what their import quantities are or their profit margins on their SWFA are like you stated in a post like you have a clue.

I’ve posted at least 3 times in this thread why store fronts in businesses like this aren’t nearly as profitable as warehouses and why they cost much more to operate too. But that was over your head just like the most basic concepts of business.

😅 I missed it too, barely. Was seconds away from dropping an awesome meme.
