SWFA 3-9 Low Profile Turret Interest

For capping the windage on the 3-9, is it possible to modify the factory turret cap to where it doesn’t rotate the turret stem? Asking since I ordered two on their sale, but haven’t had any hands on with the 3-9
You could drill out the splines, but the screw still goes into the brass post.

I may try that with the free BDC turrets.

Yeah I was thinking along those lines. Maybe drill out the splines, and then maybe figure out a washer setup under the cap screw where the cap could free spin without rotating the stem. Obviously the electrical tape will work, but trying to figure out another solution that doesn’t require tape to hold.

The turrets aren’t prone to spin in the first place, electrical tap applied to a dry scope is gonna stay there a long time. Not sure why you are worried about it not holding.

The chain leg cap would be better than drilling out a turret and hoping the center post doesn’t spin as you tighten up the screw.

IE don’t over think this imho.

Oh I’m overthinking lol. OCD on some things like actual zero stops and capped windage turrets, but frigid give the 3-9 a shot. I’m sure it’ll be a non issue
