Suppressors - first round impact shift

I have a DD Lti and it has been great with zero issues. I do not have any first-round impact shifts to speak of. I will test it out on a different rifle possibly this weekend. It is currently on a 20" 7prc.

My buddy has a begarra 300 win mag with leupold vx6. I know I told him all about it.

He has a q supressor.

His first shot cold bore is off. Sometimes off the paper. Every shot after is dead center. I had him roll the dial on scope up and down and it would still shoot perfect. We would let rifle cool and take off suppressor. Put it back on 15 min later. First shot wildly off. Then every other shot right where he wanted it.

Thoughts?

Zero it without the suppressor. Then see if it does it unsuppressed.

Put of curiosity, does he use some type of quick detach or is it direct thread? My issues all seemed related to a quick attach system (Xeno) and have completely gone away since switching back to direct thread.

Good question. It is direct thread.

Finally able to get out and “test” my DD enticer sti compared to CGS Hyperion k. Small sample groups because some idiot (me) forgot to check how much ammo was in the bag before leaving. Rifle is T3x super lite in 6.5cm cut to 18”.
Same lot of factory 140 eldm:

Top left is 6 rounds of factory 143 eldx. Bottom is 3 rounds factory 147. And top left is my T3 308 that I shoot once a year to remind myself why I switched to a a lighter recoiling cartridge in a heavier rifle.

Again, small sample size so take it with a grain of salt.

Plan on ordering a case of ammo very soon and will repeat with more shots.

2x makes every rifle tried shoot terrible. 1x makes every rifle but one shoot badly. We have not worked through it all yet.

I have had a single can, not like a single barrel or muzzle device once or twice. I have never seen multiple cans make multiple rifles shoot poorly.
Any updates or resolution on this?

For what it is worth, my one and only diligent defense LTI hasn’t caused any cold bore or other point of impact issues on 3 separate rifles. Every single one of my best groups have been fired from it, and i seem to get better results from it than my harvester evo.

Not statistically significant but it is my experience.

How is the suppression comparison if you’ve shot both cans on the same rifle?

Harvester is quite a bit louder. The LTI on both my 22 GT and 6 GT with the 223/6mm end cap is very quiet. The harvester is almost to the point of being uncomfortable if shooting under a metal awning with a 6.5 creed, and the LTI is noticeably easier on the ear. But i feel that it’s to be expected considering th LTI is considerably larger and can use caliber specific end caps where the harvester is fixed to 30 cal.
