Hoping someone may have a similar experience or insight. I have an old 30cal. Templar Tactical Archangel suppressor (prior to CRUX). It's still rocking without issues however I'm wanting to run it on a hunting rig and need some support on how to accomplish that since the company has gone under. The rub is it's threaded in a non-traditional 9/16-24 pitch and I would like to run it on a factory Tikka T3x Lite 6.5 Creed. I assume the barrel profile is to thin to have it threaded and direct mount it. Any thoughts or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

If Tikka barrels can be threaded to 1/2-28 I would think they could be threaded to 9/16-24 since the pitches are similar. I did not think there was enough shoulder on a factory profile for it to work. I'll explore that route to confirm. Thanks for the reply.

I had a gunsmith screw up a tikka threading and instead of threading 1/2-28 he threaded it 9/16-24 since it was the biggest threads the gun could accept. You should be fine on the thread pitch.

Does your Templar Tactical suppressor have a standard "HUB" mount? If so, for @$45 you can swap out the direct thread adapter for whatever thread you wish and do standard 1/2-28 threads on your Tikka.

Here's a link to the KAW Valley adapter at Joe Bob's for $39.95. They've been charging me $4.95 to ship little stuff like this to Maryland and their service has been amazingly fast, usually shipping the same day. I've been using several of these adapters for a couple of my cans and they're fine.

Just an FYI it’s completely possible to thread a Tikka lite barrel to 5/8 x 24. I have a 6.5CM cut to 18” threaded this way. Yes there isn’t much of a shoulder but I’ve had no issues with muzzle devices or direct thread. There are lots of examples of guys doing the same on this website if you search around.

I have that same suppressor under the Crux name and set it up with an AREA419 adapter setup. They sold, maybe still do, the suppressor adapter too. Put it on a cut down tikka 6.5 CTR. Great setup.

As stated above 1/2x28 with an adapter should work fine for a 6.5. You can also go 9/16 or 5/8 with a shouldered collar. This Tikka is threaded 5/8x24 at factory length with a collar loctited in place for the shoulder. Any decent smith should be able to do this.

I have two Tikka barrels threaded to 9/16-24.

How long you can thread it to all depends on how much shoulder you want.

a good smith can thread it whatever with a shoulder. i have a T3x hunter 243 chopped to 20" and threaded 5/8-24 by kampfeld customs with a nice shoulder and i'm more than happy.

i also have an older tikka tactical that's threaded M18x1 and I bought an adapter from Hughes Precision to get that to 5/8-24

plenty of ways to skin this cat

With a collar installed to shoulder against you can do whatever length you want. If you’re going really short the collar isn’t probably needed.
