Many of you guys have helped me construct a new hunting rifle for this upcoming whitetail season. Here is a build list for those curious to what I’ve come up with.

Tikka T3X Stainless Lite threaded 22” 6.5 creedmoor 1:8

-vertical grip added

-limbsaver recoil pad added

UM Tikka rings micro 1”

Trijicon Accupoint 3-9x40 Green Mildot

Hornady Precision Hunter 143g ELD-X

My issue now is after January 1st, I am going to purchase a suppressor. Does anyone at all have suggestions? I want it to be light weight and not crazy clumsy if possible. I will be hiking through the Appalachian hills, so dense forest is common.

Thank you.

Pay $125 to chop the barrel to 16-18”, thread to it 5/8”x24, and enjoy. No need to change anything else.

First, I am going to ask why you are waiting until January 1st to buy the suppressor. No offense, but everyone and their dog will be trying to buy one. Unless you are going to buy the US/UM OG now, with the 10% discount, and take delivery of it in January to avoid the tax fees, I would think really hard about getting one sooner rather than later.

Second, if you keep it at 22”, then I recommend considering the OG since it will make your barrel only 26”. If you trim it down to 18” or 20”, then a more quiet, 6” or 8” suppressor would be more viable.

Third, if you think the Scythe Ti looks great, read the feedback thread first.

I know that most don't, but I usually recommend one of the lower cost suppressors as a first one. Yes, they tend to be a bit heavier but most offer very good suppression and they will continue to be useful even after you get your 2nd, 3rd or 9th.
I know too many guys that spent $1000-1200 plus sales tax and tax stamp and because of the cost they honestly hyped themselves up and expected too much out of it and were then disappointed that it didn't meet those unreal expectations.
Now, if you have already shot someone else's gun with a suppressor and you are already hooked, then buy the one you can afford. Just like with firearms, suppressors have gotten mainstream enough where most of them are priced in their performance categories. Of course, like rifles, there are some out there that are not worth the money and some that are bargains for what you are getting.
So, with all that said, I would recommend the following:

In the "Bargain" category ($500-$750):
Resilient Jolene S
AB A-10
Diligent Defense Enticer S-Ti
SilencerCo Omega 300 DTM
Dead Air Nomad

Others recommended if you want to go lighter:
Dead Air Nomad Ti-XC
TBAC Ultra 7
CGS Hyperion K
AB Raptor 8
UM OG
B&T Print X-Ranger

The only two on these lists that I have not personally heard myself are the last two (OG and Ranger).

if it were me..

Money ain’t a thing:
-Nomad xc
-raptor 8
-unknown OG (if length is of primary importance)

Good, less expensive
-ab-10
-polonium 30

This may also be helpful... I am actually trying to plan out which suppressor to get next. This is the little Google sheet I have been putting together. The factors I consider important are, in order, Shooters Ear dBA, Weight, Length, and Durability. I only include price as a tiebreaker. Even with the passage of the BBB, a can is still a BIFL product at this time. I personally wouldn't buy a can that I didn't expect to want to use for a long time. The only "cheap" can I own is an all-steel can for my AR and a couple of rimfire cans.

I already have a Scythe and an OG. There's basically no chance that I would buy another Scythe due to durability concerns, but I am very happy with that can in every other regard. The AB cans reportedly have excellent suppression, but I have not seen an actual SE dBA rating for them yet.

I won't hijack your thread with my search requirements or further discussion on it, but I will say that I am currently searching through old RokSlide posts to see if there are other factors I am missing. My search methodology is simple: I plug in "Formidilosus" in the posts by box and the suppressor's name in the search box. I suggest you do something similar.
