Tikka T3X Lite Stainless 6.5 PRC

I thought I’d do a little show and tell of my new Tikka.

I was considering a Roughtech, but it was hard to pass up a $679 stainless T3x Lite stainless from Euro Optic. I had Bug Holes cut it back to 22” and thread it 1/2x28”. Cost was $100.

$779 for a threaded, stainless Tikka is a good deal.

Anyways, immediately installed vertical grip, trigger spring, Limbsaver recoil pad and Beartooth cheek riser. Done.

It’s a shooter, which is never a surprise. H4831 SC handloads with 143 ELDX.

2) Less loss in performance

3) Full powder burn

3) Doesn’t impede my style of hunting

Cutting barrels back to 16-18” is a lot of blast for a suppressor to dampen. Longer barrels, especially with faster burning powders, are going to be more quiet.

I’ve got the same gun and it stacks tiny groups.
Mine is cut back to 20” and threaded.
Shoots factory 147eldm and 140 tipped fusions 1/2” groups and even tighter with 130tmks loaded over N565

Mine is running slow right now but the accuracy over shadows lower speed. Amazing accuracy with 54.5 grains H4831SC and 143 ELDX. I loaded up 55-57 to see where it maxes out on pressure. Hornady published max is 54.7 and I’m nowhere near the max at 54.5.

Dosent the powder all burn up like nearly instantly? It’s not like unburnt powder flies out the barrel.

Nice rifle, Tikka's generally shoot very well and yours proves to do the same!

No, I like the factory stock. I’ve owned Bravos and I prefer the factory stock for hunting. A vertical grip and cheek riser is good enough for me.

H4831 has always been slow in every 6.5 prc I’ve owned.

H4831 has always been slow in every 6.5 prc I’ve owned.

I researched a lot of powders for the 6.5 PRC and H4831 has consistently been mentioned as producing excellent accuracy. Some folks mention it doesn’t produce the fastest velocity and others get pretty good speed.

I decided on this rifle accuracy trumps speed and went with 4831SC.
