I’m getting a new Tikka T3X in .270 and I want a set and forget scope that won’t give me a hard time. Eye relief matters to me since I have bad vision.

Bushnell elite 4200, 4500. I have yet to kill one and the 4200 lived on my un broke carbon 300rum that killed a bunch of scopes.

I would add the Bushnell Engage 3-9x40 with the illuminated dot with a plex reticle. It is very functional and can be had for $200ish.

That’s the same setup I’m thinking about running but in .270! Nice rifle man
Thanks. Just a simple rifle hunting rifle with a Burris scope, DNZ game reaper rings and a limbsaver recoil pad.

7.2lbs this rifle does thump the shoulder a bit. The limbsaver helped quite a bit.

I take it out to 350yds at the range from time to time. Pretty much a hold on fur to 300yds.

I plan to pick up a 7mm08 maybe 6.5creed and set it up the same. What am I thinking? 7mm08.

What about the Fullfield IV 2.5-10x 42mm? Anyone know anything about it?
I ran a couple for a bit. The perfect physical size for a scope, IMO. What killed it for me was the way that the power selector is "knurled". Tons of traction for powering up, but there's nothing for turning it back down. It matters to me as stiff as Burris power change rings tend to be. If they offered the regular plex with illumination I'd be very tempted to get back to them. The sale that Camera land was/is running on the Sightron S1 is probably the best bang for the buck on a scope available right now. It doesn't get much better for a basic hunting scope.

There are a couple SWFAs and trijicons in the classifieds you could get into for a couple hundred bucks more. FYI

Had one and I felt the eye relief was right and the black circle around the reticle made it a little more difficult to look through
“Right” or “tight”? Assuming you meant “tight”?
Fwiw these are seemingly some of the more reliable scopes in the class you are talking about. Regardless, maybe see if you can compare in person or get someone who has both scopes side by side to compare…trijicons website shows different eye relief for the huron and credo 3-9. T shows 2.5-3.7 for huron and 3.5-3.7 for credo. Possibly a typo but perhaps worth checking. The accupoint model shows a wider range of eye relief. My only accupoint is a 1-6, but that scope has a noticeably easier eyebox than the credo 3-9.
