Stupid Savage rifles….

That group is pretty hard to argue with and in my experience what Savage rifles typically shoot.
Agreed. I've yet to own a Savage (and I've probably had close to 20 now) that was a challenge to get under an inch. 0.8's and 0.7's are pretty routine.

This 110 cost me $295 with the newer stock. Feel like I stole it.

Ok. So I agree. Mine shoot well too.

But help me get the dang thing to cycle well.

I’ve tried the aftermarket bolt kits on two rifles. Still not reliable extraction (unless forceful pull back it hangs up).

For a hunting rig I’m not complaining, but compared to some others it’s rough.

Seriously open to some thoughts on how to improve.

I've had a few like that, but the newer ones I've bought have all cycled pretty well. This bargain rifle I just bought probably cycles the best of them all. Lighter bolt lift than most, smooth and feeds really nice. Better than any Howa I ever owned.

There are bolt lift kits available for Savages if you have a heavy bolt lift. I've never tried one but I've read about those who have and it did help them.

Is your issue after you get the bolt lifted or during?

I love my Savage rifles and all shoot lights out , for hunting rifles . Plus I had a Elite Precision 6mm CM and it was an amazingly accurate rifle with Hornady Match ammo . I sold it before I started reloading , but I think I could've gotten even more out of it by reloading .

The lift is heavier than most rifles I own, but that doesn’t bother me. It’s in the pull back and extraction. The round doesn’t pop out reliably on two of my rifles (they are 2010 - era). I may snag another kit someday to see if I can work it.

Have you disassembled the bolt and replaced the extractor?

The one I had that issue with it fixed it.

What I was going to suggest. Savage extractors always seem like a weak link to me, but then I've never had one fail or give me an issue over thousands of rounds and dozens of rifles. So I quit worrying about them long ago. BUT - if you do attempt to replace your extractor, do yourself a favor and do it inside of a gallon zip-lock baggie because when that tiny ball bearing goes sailing, you'll never find it otherwise!

Funny guy. Must feel threatened or embarassed.

This was a 110 with the newer stock. 7 lbs scoped and shoots 3/4 MOA. How much did you spend to get a rifle that light and that accurate? Feel free to share. ;)
It was a joke...kinda similar to the title of your thread. Sheeze!
I have 4 or 5 10, 110, 16 etc.
Only thing I hate is the high bolt lift.

Too bad they come with that STUPID accutrigger. I might actually consider buying one if they came with a normal trigger.

It might be my imagination but they seem to be getting better. This one and my last one (Ultralight) aren't bad at all. I mean, they will never be Tikka bolts but then they were never intended to be either.

I guess they appeal to me because I understand them, they are easy to work on, inexpensive and damn accurate. When they came out with the new stock designs, I sold a number of other rifles I had (Howa, Tikka, CA) and went back to all Savage rifles. I love that new stock. Fits me like a glove.

Just like the takeup I guess. And all mine break clean at 2.5 lbs. with very little overtravel. I've had plenty of other triggers (Timney, TT, etc) and still prefer the Accutrigger. Now just about every major rifle manufacturer has their version of the Accutrigger, barrel nut and adjustable stocks. Savage - as much as some folks love to hate them - are a leader in the industry in many ways.
