Have you checked how much it’s sizing the neck down? Could be over working the shit out of that neck.

But I’ve intentionally neck down brass .020 at a time without issue. Could be the geometry of the shoulder or something. Just rattling shit off, but I’ve never inverted a shoulder like that lol

I think you’re spot on. I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what happened. And when the neck-/shoulder collapsed, it basically riveted itself into the top of the die.

I’m going to see how it functions tomorrow, but if there’s any funny business I’m pretty sure I’ll snag a SAC die.

For sure! And measure the OD of a loaded round and just get a bushing that’s .004-.005 under that diameter.

I did this with my 6GT Hornady die the first time i ever used it. Didn’t stick but i did ruin 2 cases.

Betcha the expander ball is too high in the die so the case hit the neck of the die and the mandrel at the same time. It can’t get through so it shoves it inside the case body. Thought i had those cases still but don’t.

Sac makes a good die, but it’s really its best with a decapping expander, which is even more.

The A419 s series is another I’d look at. Unless your wanting the modular nature of the sac, the a419 is a nice die that does what the sac does for the most part if your only using it for one caliber. Saves a few bucks, I almost prefer my a419 s series to my sac for my dashers. It’s just a simpler die, but still very high quality. Both size farily low on the base as well.

over paying for tools that you should already have in the garage just doesnt make sense to me.

I don’t even know what’s in there or how much I paid for it years ago.
“Better to have and not need…” kind of purchase.

I will file that idea away. If I stick another case, I might skip the bolt just to try it out.
