Our area was ground zero for the Wolf reintroduction in 94 we had all kinds of meetings in our town since it was going to impact our valley the most in the beginning.
Anyway, the vast majority of people from all over the spectrum of land use not just hunters concerned about game animals were opposed at each of the meetings that lasted a good portion of a year, all our concerns fell on deaf ears,it was then that we realized there is more to this than the warm fuzzy feeling you get knowing that all is right in the woods or science, these people had a agenda and those Wolves were getting released no matter the opposition.
I doubt anything no matter how much each sportsman gets involved will stop further reintroduction. Heck, at the time we couldn't even get the RMEF to take a stand for or against, does anyone know what their stance is today?
Most of the people for this have no idea what you are about to unleash and the expense involved controlling them, they may be fine in the Bob but it definitely changed things for the worse in central idaho. It has taken 25yrs and although I'm no expert things seem to be stabilizing. If you guys in Co. get them figure on 25yrs to get back to where you are today, that's how I see it.
Good luck
Oh,and when you do get the Wolves you better get an Iron clad contract as to the number of breeding pairs allowed, who will manage them when those numbers are exceeded and most importantly who is going to pay for the trapping, shooting of problem Wolves and depredation reimbursement expenses.
