They sent me the curved stays and they worked great. They don’t like to do it because you can install them incorrectly very easily.
Did you install them yourself or were you able to get the pack with the curve stays already in them?
If you installed them yourself, how difficult is the process?

Has anyone had any issues with their stays popping out of the velcro retainers on top of the pack? I've packed out several animals with mine and this is the first time it's happened to me. The first time was my fault; it happened from bouncing the pack up and down on the ground to get meat to settle into the load panel. After pulling everything out and putting the stays back in place it happened again just while hiking. Once the stays pop out of the retainer it feels like a duffel bag and all the weight goes straight to the shoulder straps. I've loved this pack but this will be a deal breaker if there's no fix for it. Especially since the X-curve works so well for me.

Update on the stays:
SG got back to me same day and advised pounding them down into the frame sheet with a rubber mallet. Apparently they are usually quite tightly fit into the bottom of the frame sheet in addition to the velcro retainers at the top of the frame. I tried this but the stays are already bottomed out, and there's little to no retention at the bottom of the frame. I'll update them with the outcome and see what they advise next.

Any updates on this? I’d like to order a terminus with x curve stays

Yes. SG replaced the entire bag portion of the pack and installed curved stays. I've only worn it around the house with 80lbs in the pack so no long term experience with the difference in stays.

Good to know so the specs were off on your previous bag you think?

No, it worked great for a couple seasons and packouts before there was an issue. It probably came from bouncing it up and down on the ground to try to get meat to settle in the load shelf. But maybe also from just wear over time. Regardless of the cause, the pocket in the bottom of the frame loosening up was the reason the stays were coming out. Hopefully it doesn't happen again, I haven't heard of anyone else having the same issue.

I found it a challenge getting the meat in there too ha ha. It did work easier if you put individual pieces in as opposed to trying to put it in while it in a game bag.

I’m thinking of just cutting the load shelf out. It’s loud and annoying. I am used to just putting meat in the bag, use a big cuben dry bag for meat in place of any garbage bag or load cell.

does the load cell terminate at the bottom of the hip belt or the top? Like the load shelf on the break away frames

I've actually been putting stuff I don't want to get bloody in the load cell (puffies, etc) and then the meat in the bag. So far it has been working great

I really wanted to like the terminus, but had barreling with the frame. Got the Exo k4 and have been happy so far with a few 80+ loads this fall.

I had the stays pop out of the top of the frame as well. Also had the frame barrell. I used it for 3 sheep hunts and have now since sold mine. I liked the pack fabric and how light it was. Also liked the simplicity of putting meat in that load cell.

Is the barreling any worse than the normal frames?
Its the only negative for me. Could be fixed with a webbing sleeve and horizontal stay

Having packed meat with a buddy’s 5900, I would say the barreling was much more noticeable with the terminus, but I admittedly haven’t used them side by side

I’ve used both and would say it’s pretty damn close. The regular frames can barrel as well. The load cell bag helps a bit but once you reef on the compression straps there’s some give, really have to try hard to get the meat “flat” in the shelf to prevent it.
