Stone Glacier Tokeen 2600 Day Pack Review ***Updated 7/21/24***

Thanks to the folks from Stone Glacier and Rokslide, I just received a Tokeen 2600 day pack to review. Plan is to plenty of miles on it and play with weight to see what is reasonable for this pack.

Just got it today. Stuck on the scale to see if it jives with SG's weight. My weight 2 lbs 15.2 oz, listed weight 2 lb 15 oz :) I removed the frame and belt (both easily removed) to weigh them. Frame weighs 9.2 oz, belt 6.8 oz and the bag (with shoulder straps) 1 lb 15.2 oz- 2 lbs 15.2 oz total.

So stay tuned :)

Love the solid color over the camo look

100% agree. I went with the Sky 5900 in their tan color and LOVE it. Packed loads of elk meat with it the past 2 seasons!

Between this and the Avail. Convince me because this entire write up has me wanting features from both. I love the external pouch on the avail for the ability to shove things in there or when I run a tree saddle. But I also am wanting a tad more space. Will be using mostly for hiking/ scouting and some travel. Once a year I hunt whitetail in Missouri and run a saddle setup. If I could only pick one, I rest my wallet in y’all’s hands 😂

Fwiw the beaver tail deal on the a an avail is of minimal use. It’s a small bag and it’s not hard to fill up, when filled up you can’t fit much In the flap. It dosnt have any pleats or anything built into it so it mainly feels like a compression panel.

I could do without the panel, and add some elastic bottle pockets and it would be perfect.

The material of the tokeen (same as my terminus) is quiet and water proof as well.

If you get the tokeen and don’t like it I’ll trade you my avail

I had an Avail. Nice pack but I found the volume was just a little shy for later season stuff.

The Tokeen I found was just right.

I never used the beaver tail much on the Avail. The Tokeen has lashing straps that can handle most anything I need to carry on the exterior.

The Avail does have far better organization on the interior vs the Tokeen. For some folks I’m sure that’s a big advantage.

Welp I ordered both and we’ll see who the survivor is. I do use the beaver tail pouch on my kuiu 1500 but it’s absolutely maxed when I use as carry on or take into the whitetail woods.

The tokeen material is attractive to me. I know a rain fly would solve the problem but I just went on a weekend trip to Big Sur. Was trying to get some miles in and ended up getting absolutely drenched in a gale. Whitetail world is similar in that I hunt a lot of thick dew vegetation.

Scouting mule deer and artifact hunting is less concerning since it is usually dry for me in the desert (usually but at times gets sporty).

Ive had both and like the Tokeen more. The two exterior pockets are nice. If it had side bungee/slide pockets and maybe longer lash straps underneath it would be perfect. For instance I went on a fishing trip this weekend and would have loved to have used my tokeen instead of fly rod bag for travel but didnt want my pole tube sliding out. I was really missing the pack in every other aspect
