Stone Glacier Terminus Review

I think it is closer to the top, but I would need to verify. I'll check that when I get home.
Mine tapers towards the bottom of the meat shelf and hits just above the bottom of the belt.

ive always used a kifaru gun bearer on my packs. I dont like how with the SG sling you have to strap the rifle to your pack and then throw your pack on hoping that your rifle doesn't fall off
I will second this. I love everything SG but the sling does not work for me at all. I have to use the compression straps.

Loud but still function as intended.

I listened to your podcast with the SG guy. They seem legit. Especially if you're packing boned out meat.
I've got the stealth of the kool aid man. Not too worried about pack noise.

They definitely seem way more streamlined than the Kifs. Think Kif is sort of over built with too many straps and buckles. But dang they can sure put in work!

So 7000 vs 8700?
You gain a lot of space and only 4 oz.

I was torn between the 7000 and 8700. I went with the 8700 for a bit of extra organization at a minimal weight penalty. Another thing to keep in mind is that the internal load shelf takes up some of that space when packing meat. So the 8700 essentially turns into a 6500 at that point. With that being said, I am happy with the pack. The main bag still compresses nicely when in day pack mode. The lid is rather bulky but I believe it's the same lid for both sizes. I think that it ultimately comes down to the volume of gear that you bring on your typical hunts and how much you value an external pocket.
