They sent me the curved stays and they worked great. They don’t like to do it because you can install them incorrectly very easily.
Did you install them yourself or were you able to get the pack with the curve stays already in them?
If you installed them yourself, how difficult is the process?

Has anyone had any issues with their stays popping out of the velcro retainers on top of the pack? I've packed out several animals with mine and this is the first time it's happened to me. The first time was my fault; it happened from bouncing the pack up and down on the ground to get meat to settle into the load panel. After pulling everything out and putting the stays back in place it happened again just while hiking. Once the stays pop out of the retainer it feels like a duffel bag and all the weight goes straight to the shoulder straps. I've loved this pack but this will be a deal breaker if there's no fix for it. Especially since the X-curve works so well for me.

Update on the stays:
SG got back to me same day and advised pounding them down into the frame sheet with a rubber mallet. Apparently they are usually quite tightly fit into the bottom of the frame sheet in addition to the velcro retainers at the top of the frame. I tried this but the stays are already bottomed out, and there's little to no retention at the bottom of the frame. I'll update them with the outcome and see what they advise next.
