Stocky’s Hunter VG Tikka stock

Here is a pic of the VG2 with Howa Action 24" Proof Sendero Carbon with SRS SS Pro 4 Muzzle Brake. As stated earlier, I was impressed with the fit on the VG2 it was tight straight from the factory. I had it pillar bedded by LRI and inletted for an atlas worx bottom metal that accepts AICS mags and the new barrel and muzzle brake threaded on. I had the striker pin bushed and added a new bolt knob for the bolt as well.

I originally intended on keeping the camo job from stockys and using sniper grey for the cerakote but turns out its a hydrodip that doesn't hold up well and after all the work they did it needed a new coating. Instead of opting for the patterns available from LRI I decided I would send the stock off the Nevada Cerakote for them to do a RELV Moab pattern (if you haven't seen it, its sick). So to match that pattern I opted for midnight bronze for the metal work.

Will post up final pics when its finished, going to hunt this season with it as it is.

You didn’t get one supplied? The Mountain Tactical that came with both of mine fit without slop.
No. Their website says something about not getting a recoil lug shipped with your stock but they can provide one

Here is the carbon black olive for anyone wondering. My recoil lug and action fit very snug. Will probably need to relieve the barrel channel a bit. It's awful close on one side.

What are you guys torquing to with factory bottom metal? I got to 50 in lbs and it looked like the screws wanted to start pushing through the factory bottom metal (plastic?)

Both of mine are torqued to 65

I ordered one yesterday, the sale price + 10% off (10OFFMAIL) was too good to pass up. It was backordered but I will update when it arrives and if it comes with a recoil lug.

I have a Veil Wideland. Which barrel contour inlet should I choose for these stocks?

I grabbed 2, one of each barrel contour. I'm thinking the bigger barrel channel has no disadvantage, but I haven't received the factory contour yet.

I'm eagerly awaiting longer term tests on this stock, particularly with those who aren't bedding them.

Holy crap, I ordered mine on Friday and just got a shipping notification. Wasn’t expecting that.
They ship out super fast, even when backordered.

I’ve also called/emailed them several times to ask questions and they’ve always been delightful to deal with. They seem like a really solid company.

Reach out and get one from them. I think the MT ones are a snugger fit.
My first one came without a lug and I just used the factory tikka steel one and it fit very tight. My second came with the Mt Tactical and it is slightly loose. There are no guarantees on their inletting from what I have seen. My first one was so tight I could barely get the action in, my second dropped right in with a little play. Neither are bedded in any way and both shoot Moa or smaller 10rd groups and haven’t shown any zero shift when dropped. I torqued my action screws to 50 in/lb with the factory bottom metal.

Does the grip to trigger seem as long as it looks?
Also, nice scope. 😁
