I’ll go with something out of the norm: 7-08, 7SAW, 280ai, or 7prc. Shooting the 162eldm or 180eldm.

After the 7’s, I think you are describing the perfect use case for a big 30 cal magnum. 300prc with 225eldm. 300wsm with 208 eldm.

If really trying to keep it tikka, 6.5prc, 7-08, or 7prc would be my picks.

The 243 offering is a 90 ELDX. The 95 grainers are the SSTs.

Both kill very well. Generally 243 Tikkas shoot the 95 SSTs and 90 ELDXs stupidly accurate.

Who buys their ammo at Walmart? And who here has ever had a hunt hinge on buying ammo at Walmart?

Well....I live in AR and if I bought factory ammo....which I don't...I would likely buy ammo at Walmart....because there really isn't anything else within 50 miles.

Regardless, the point I was trying to make was that ammo for calibers like 243 and 300 WM are readily available.
