You answered your own question. As you stated, the weakest link is aluminum, so why have more parts in your setup that are aluminum than you have to, unless you're concerned about weight, which I'm not.
The aluminum in your scope tube is way thinner than any scope mount.
There is no scope on the market that will outlast a set of Nightforce rings

Agreed on the strength, as long as they're designed well the aluminum isn't an issue. Especially 7075.
The advantage is being able to weld them to the receiver and eliminate a mechanical connection. That may or may not be worth the trouble.
