Staccato Pistols Worth It?

Intresting, I thought it was commonly accepted the Stacattos were well below common duty pistols on the reliably scale.

One last thought. If sig can get 10,12,17 rounds in a 365 how can "they" not get that to fit in a 1911 single stack grip?

365 mags are stack and a half and can fit staggered... 9mm 1911 single stacks just fit vertical because mag has to fit inside the trigger bow. That's where the 2011 platform widens the grip frame so there is a wider trigger bow and a bigger mag.

What I'm getting at is the DS grip seems like its bigger than it has to be (could be totally wrong here), and the single stack grip has all the ergo benefits. I wish there was a way to get more 9mm in the single stacks grip without all the bulk. I want the best of both... if there was a way to do it I'm sure it would exist already.

To be more precise

For the staccatos.
Besides maybe the Tisas (no long term reliability yet) for DS 1911 in general, nothing bests the Staccatos from "factory" at the same price point? i.e. don't have to mess with it.

Correct. Staccato’s in general just work.

I read that as - going to spend more money for the same reliability.

Yes. Or- you can spend a lot less, but have to tweak a bit on your own.

I know you've mentioned colt ccu, and some springfields (don't remember models), tisas b9r (discontinued?).

Those are decent. The issue is that Staccato is doing what is necessary to make the pistols reliable from the factory. All the other factory 1911’s and 2011’s are out together, but not fit/tuned to actually have every pistols be truly reliable.

It’s odd to me that you can't get a reliable/reliable enough 1911 single for comparable striker prices. I'm sure there's a reason.

The base reason is that the 1911 was designed in a time where human labor was cheap and machine labor was expensive. Now machining is cheap and human labor is extremely expensive. The 1911 as it currently sits does not use drop in parts- each part has to be fit and tuned to that specific gun to be truly correct.

Having said all that, the world does not a drop in part compatible, modernly made 1911.

They can. The companies think it’s a dumb idea. It’s exactly what needs to happen.

Right now that is the C and CS models. The magazine is a true 9mm, and the grip is much smaller than a 2011. Holds 15 or 17 rounds.

Mph, it can be done- the Brouwer M1811 grip is exactly a 1911 outside dimension- but used P320 mags.

Not needing deep concealment, but weight, size is still important, for non on body carry such as a bino harness, in a chest holster/pack, pack waist belt. Or sitting on a night stand/ HD type stuff. The C probably makes more sense.

Is that 320 a good/reliable gun? Haven't heard much about it lately
