Speed goal for 77grn

So I’m looking to load a batch of 77grn bullets to use in AR’s. Most are 1:7 or 1:8.

They shoot the Sierra loaded rounds well and the listed velocity is 2730. I can load faster and was wondering what speed you all shoot for when reloading 5.56.

What barrel length?

In a 16” 2,700-2,750 fps MV is about max.

Well 25 grns of cfe 223 didn’t group well. Dropping down to 24.

I get 2650fps from my 16" AR using TAC & 8208xbr with published data. 77gr tmk.

77 SMK, 18 inch barrel (SPR profile) 1:7 twist, 2730 fps. 0.35 moa 10 shot group in a rock rest.

I’ve owned a lot of ar’s. Can’t ever get great groups. Not sure why. With a bolt action I can.

what triggers do you typically have in your ar rifles? That can make a significant difference. Also, for me, ar rifles seem to be more sensitive to technique, especially pressure that you put on / into the rifle. I have to remind myself to 'stay in the scope' and keep the trigger pinned to the rear through the shot.
