Yup. I was there the week of the storm. It cut my trip short. Had 3 broadside at 26 yards. Problem was they were 10 yards onto private. Stalked to within 16 yards of them. If they go right, the big one dies. But like deer seem to always do, they went left. Stared at me for 10 seconds or so and bounded away. A nice 4x4, decent 3x3 and a forky. Also had a big whitetail at 20 yards. Just couldn’t get drawn back fast enough on him. Good experience. Saw other hunters, but coming from whitetail hunting public land in MN/WI, the numbers don’t seem all that high to me.
I did for a few days outside of Spearfish with a friend. Saw quite a few decent deer, one guy took a nice buck. No shots for me but that's the way it goes sometimes.
