One of the best improvements to a Kimber is chopping the barrel and adding a suppressor to shift balance forward. My biggest complaint was how butt heavy (and thus muzzle light) they are in factory form. On my 6.5 CM Montana, I chopped the barrel at 16.5 and added a Banish Backcountry. It now hangs on target much better. My .308 and .243 I had cut/crowned to 19", this one I went with 18" as I'm hoping to add a lightweight suppressor in the not too distant future.
