What sleeping bags are you muscler dudes using? 350+ pound benchers as a idea of size. I bought a brand new bag last summer and since I've been training for powerlifting I no longer fit in my xl sleeping bag from Nemo I'd prefer to not lose muscle. If bags are not a good option, what kind of sleep systems are you running?

350# benchers come in all sizes. Height & weight is a good way to express your size...
6' 1" 235 pounds at about 8 to 10 percent body fat. From my experience most dudes benching 350 and above are pretty big. It's not easy to make that kind of weight for reps. A quilt system might be the way to go as well.

At that height and weight you should be able to find a bag that works with no trouble. Unless your somewhat claustrophobic. Sleeping in a bag very regularly will help in that case...
You looking for down or synthetic?

I just switched to a quilt, an Enlightened Equipment, and I really like it. I bought an inventory model, but they offer custom build options, which include extra length and width.

I'm running two nemos xl right now. A zero degree and a 15. I do fit but the problem is I'm pushing it to the point that I'm squishing the insulation to the point that I don't believe it's all that effective.

I'll take a look at them. I've been considering a quilt anyway as well. Thanks!

Only 350#? So 6’, 190lbs….. I’d say just about any quilt will do!
On a serious note, I’m 6’3”, 260 lbs. went from a big Agnes lost ranger 15, which I like because it’s roomy, to a zenbivy this year. Whatever the long wide version is…. And it fits me great! About as roomy as the ba but much lighter

I am not a big dude, but think you'd be a good use case for a zen bivy. Check it out and see what you think. I sleep like a baby in mine, love how roomy it feels.

How much do you bench though?

Check the Badger Bed from bornoutdoor.com. I have one and have had my cousin use it and he slept great in it. He's 6'3" ~230 and ended up getting one for himself. Worth checkin out...

I just heard a review of it on the James Nash's 6 Ranch Podcast. It's the first product he reviews in this gear review. He's not a little guy.

Oh I forgot, how will he know if he will fit without that info? Unfortunately I don’t lift heavy anymore since I realized it’s pointless and only breaks you down over time… hopefully there’s a conversion chart for pushups to max bench.i can do 50.
I guess another positive of going with a quilt is there no hood to worry about your head fitting into!

Stone glacier Chilkoot is very roomy but still extremely warm. I have the 15 degree and my biggest problem is sweating while sleeping.
I’m 6’1’ wear XL shirts with wider shoulders than most. 220 lbs. 34” waist

You can bench 350+, but if you're skipping leg day can you carry a heavier synthetic sleeping bag?

List what you want in the bag for better help:
Down or Synthetic
Packability or are you base camping from the truck
Temp rating
Bag length
Any other shits and giggles you prefer.

I am everso slightly bigger than you. Zenbivy 30" pad and XL quilt. I fit like a dream.

I’m only 6’ 200# and have benched 385# dawG.. hehe.. pointless tho.. rather do 2 plates for high reps anymore.. but anyway just messin with ya this thread made me laugh. I have pretty wide shoulders and def feel like I need a wider bag.. been wanting to try a quilt myself, a lot of people recommend those Enlightened Quilts.. that’s prolly what I will go with.
