Sleep System Weight

If I'm in colorado I won't take a bivy if I take the annex with my supertarp. In the cascades, where I will be this year I'll be running a RAB ridge master under my supertarp. PArt for bugs, and part for peace of mind with condensation.

I need to weight it, but this is pretty close

SL5 w/ stakes, pole, guy lines = 3#
Roll up stove = 2.5#
Golite adrenaline 20 bag = 2#
Exped UL7 pad = 1#
Lawson 1/8"x24"x74" pad = .4#

Total = 8.9#

After I stuff the tent or stove in my buddy's pack (figure the tent sleeps two so share the load) I'm at 6-6.5# for a heated shelter. Without the stove I'm at 5.2# for a roomy shelter if I pack it all and use trekking poles for the tent :)

How do you like the center zip?

I have the same bag. I don't like the center/half length zip if its 45+ degrees. The golite bag is really warm and a half zip doesnt open up enough. It is a nice bag for colder temps though and the center zip works great.

that's the temp range I love this bag the most. I really sleep the best on my stomach. I only sleep on my sides because it just doesn't work with a mummy bag to sleep on my stomach. Once it stays above 40 deg. at night I peel the sleeping bag down around my waste and wear a sweater and beanie while laying on my stomach.

For colder temps with some precipitation-
Yama Cirriform 2 person cuben- 26.5 ounces
9 Stakes- 2.3 ounces
Thermarest Neo Air X- 20 ounces
0 degree Hammock Gear Quilt- 27 ounces
Total- 4.825 pounds

For warmer and no precipitation I leave the tent and 0 degree at home and take a 20 degree Hammock Gear quilt and the cirriform tarp or a hammock gear cuben tarp- this nocks the weight down to 3.58 pounds.

Wow, even though this thread is over 3 years old, ya'lls stuff puts mine to shame.

REI half dome 2+......5 lbs 1oz
Sleeping pad....... 12.6oz
Kelty 30* bag..... 3lb 9oz

I'll be using this stuff on my first elk hunting trip in Montana. Rifle season. I'll probably end up sleeping in my base layers. And maybe my puffy.

4lb-5lb Spring - Early Fall. 5lb-6lb Late Fall - Winter. That goes as far as bag, pad, shelter.

I am the heaviest, and possibly one of the cheapest.... Just hit the gym more.

10.8# $350 cdn
X therm pad
Marmot 2p tent + stakes
Marmot 15 sleeping bag.
Sea to summit compression dry bag.

I brought this post back after doing some research... my 13 year old and I are spending more time back country and the hammock setup we love and have been using just takes up too much space- my boy is just not tall enough for a decent size pack... so made the move/investment in new ground system that's light and small. It was flawless this year. Still use hammocks on shorter trips but we can now expand the trips a few days with no weight penalty and same size packs- just sleep on the ground.

Upgraded to a new system:

SL5
Thermarest cot
E/E revelation quilt
Kifaru box stove for the later seasons

The SL5 was a gift, as was the box stove. I bought the cot and quilt used. Spend less than $200 on both with $55 to get a stove jack installed in the SL5.

I've been running this system since 2015 and love it.

BA Flycreek UL 2: 2lb 11oz w/ footprint ($378 + 70)
REI Igneo 19 deg down bag: 1lb 13 oz ($178 on sale)
BA Q core SLX pad: 16 oz ($159)

Total: 5lb 5oz at 8.96/oz

I should actually weigh my setup, but here are listed weights

Golite Imogene UL2 - 2 lbs 7 oz
Klymit Insulated Static V Lite - 1 lbs 4 oz
Massdrop 20° quilt - 1 lbs 6 oz

Total - 5 lbs 3 oz

My solo 3 season above the timberline on the move shelter system, I hunt as I go sleeping where I end up, so the gear must be light

SMD Deschutes - 370g
Borah bivy - 190g
Exped winterlite 405g
HG burrow 20 - 570g
Stakes 50g

Totals: 1585g or 3.5lb in old speak.

I didnt add the weight of the walking poles, but I use cp3's so you could add 300g for one of them.
