New Vortex Talon 10k RF Binos

A few weeks old thread, but is anyone else caught up on the weight AND price tag of the talons?

I mean Swaro 12x42 range are same price and half a pound lighter. If they figured out how to make the glass THAT good and/or the features are that much better I’d be impressed. But at 40+oz I’m scratching my head a bit.

I tried and returned the 10x42s

The weight was correct vs their advertised weight, I ended up paying $2050 after tax for them.

The laser and display seemed great and better than my Swaro TA for sure, didn’t spend much time with the laser as the glass quality wasn’t there for what I was wanting. Resolution wasn’t even close to Swaro TAs (tried side by side) and the edge to edge was lacking compared to the Swaro. The light transmission was noticeable better with the Swaro as well. For me I am prioritizing glass vs ranging but would give up a little glass for a much better laser and tech but ultimately the glass difference was too inferior to move off the Swaro’s.

Looks like the swaros are a good $1000 higher

Idk but does it matter? All that matters is real world pricing plus a lifetime warranty on something with electronics is worth quite a bit
Bud I’m not hating on vortex. I have a bunch of their stuff. I’m saying at that price point and weight I’m personally not seeing the value. Even at $2200. But that’s just my opinion. If the glass is razor UHD quality with a good laser (which is normally their strong area), life’s good.

Edit: 12x compared to 12x the talon is a full pound heavier. Again just crazy to me.
