Kifaru 20* Long/Wide
Big Agnes Q-Core Long/Wide...not the UL w/Pumphouse (doubles as a stuff sack & pillow)
Hilleberg Atko
Kifaru 5-string Large

8 lbs. 7 oz. or $7.27/oz. I'm sacrificing weight for comfort & durability going the Long/Wide route, but at least my price/oz. ratio is down there.

What time of year, for the next month this is what ill be using.

Kifaru Doobie 2lb 2oz
Paratarp 1lb with too many stakes
ID bugaboo 1lb 6oz
BA qcore sl, the short one 1lb 2oz
Blow up pillow, forgot the name 3oz

5lb 13oz. Heavier than some but its bullet proof and very versatile, and ill take that over saving a lb all day

675 for all of it, only the bivy was used.

Early fall ( Sept./Oct.) solo sleep system-

Shelter- Yama Mtn Gear Terraform 2p - 22 oz. all up with guylines and stakes
( this is something new I am trying this year, and saves me about 5 oz from my Integral Designs George Tarp that I usually use)

I really like this lightweight 2 person shelter- esp. for solo- which for me it is best at. I could go with my wife with it, but that would be it for me. But if she goes I would take the SL5.

Bag- WM Summerlite reg length - 19 oz

Tyvek 30x84" sheet 2.5 oz

Bivy Ti- Goat Raven with bug netting 7.5 oz
(optional - but usually take to protect fabric when using the WM Summerlite since it is very thin)

Pad- POE Peak Elite AC ( I think is the model) 12 oz

So total oz if I take the bivy is- 63 oz ( or 3.93 lbs- barely under 4 )

If I don't take the bivy it is 55.5 oz ( or 3.46 lbs)

My total costs for above is really pretty low since everything except the bivy was on sale at discount prices. Total I have into above is- $465; so $ per oz is $7.40

I think you have to value the supertarp at the value of the item traded!

I just posted new prices on mine even though I bought the TT second hand for about 50 less than new. I figured that was a good way to show cost of a set up at that weight. the more I think about it the better a way of looking at cost vs weight this is for someone looking to get into a sleep system from scratch. I know it would have saved me money over the trial and error way I arrived at mine

Thermarest Xtherm 15 oz $190.00
Tigoat Raven Omni bivy 7.1 oz $165.00
Zpacks 30* quilt 15 oz. $380.00
Zpacks Hexamid Solo plus with (10) ti stakes 7.2 oz. $235.00

Total weight 44.3 oz. or 2 lbs 12.3 oz. (all in a Kifaru 5 string @ 2.5 oz.)

Total cost $970.00
The stuff sack would be another $45.00

This is my September setup. If I'm hunting in really nasty weather I'll take a different tent and leave the bivy and tarp.

I have been really happy with the comfort of this system. In the past I was using a Thermarest prolite 3 and a Marmot helium 15* bag. I'm way more comfortable now than I have ever been with a backpacking sleep system.

Thought I would mention that if I'm expecting a longer trip with the chance for bad weather or if hunting with a couple buddies, I can swap out the Cuben fiber tarp and stakes and bring the SL5 fly and stakes (33.5 oz). Cost was $299.00 for the SL5.

33.5 oz - the tarp = 26.3 oz added to my minimalist shelter for a total of 70.6 oz or 4 lbs 6.6 oz.

I also won't give up comfort for weight savings. This year I just decided to spend whatever it took to get light weight and comfortable.

Tent: GoLite Shangri-La 3: I use just the flysheet, which weighs 23.8 oz with the tent stakes. I pitch it with my trekking poles (Black Diamond Alpine Carbon Cork 2012) which add another 16 oz to the weight of the system for a total of 39.8 oz.

Sleeping pad: Thermarest NeoAir XTherm: 15 oz.

Sleeping bag: For three season I use an old synthetic army surplus 30 degree bag. It weighs 37.3 oz. For winter I use a Western Mountaineering Antelope MF 0 degree bag which weighs 39 oz. They both fit in a Sea to Summit stuff sack which weighs 4.7 oz.

Pillow: I know, I know! It's a Kooka Bay Kookalight pillow and it weighs 1.2 oz.

So, for three season outings the total weight is 6.125 lb if you count the trekking poles in the weight, and 5.125 lb if you don't. The winter weight is 6.23 lb if you count the trekking poles and 5.23 if you don't.

Sierra Designs Cal 13 dri down long 31 oz 520$
Neoair X-lite regular 12 oz 160$
Mountain shelter LT 32 oz 130$
polycryo ground sheet 1.5oz 10$

4.78 lbs 820$ or 10.75$/oz

Thats retail for everything I was able to save quite a bit off retail through websites similar to promotive, eventually I'll add a paratarp for my solo trips which will save me about three quarters of a pound I imagine.

BA Jackrabbit SL2 tent at 3 lbs 13 oz
BA Insulated Air Core at 1 lbs 5 oz
REI Igneo 19 degree bag at 2 lbs 1 oz
Cocoon air pillow at 3.5 oz

Total: 7 lbs 4 oz.

Heavier than I would like but it's a tested system and I always seem 100% dry though Pacific Northwest rains/wind, and protected from bat sized skeeters. I've never woken up cold or sore from an uncomfortable night and the 2nd vestibule on the tent works out perfect when backpacking/scouting with my lady who seems to have to crawl out of her bag 93 times per night to pee.
